History Ksenia was in a literal kill squad, she's a killer. Her past isn't something she talks about a lot, it isn't important. What is important is that she does her job and that means keeping herself and anyone on her team alive. She was born on July 20th to Mikhail Kozlov and his wife, Nadia. Nadia was very sweet in public, she was great at appearing to be the perfect mother, but at home she was emotionally and occasionally physically abusive. She would always make sure to remind Ksenia that she was a disappointment, that she wasn't the daughter she had always wanted. Mikhail was gone often to try and avoid his wife's wrath. It always disturbed him that he hadn't protected his daughter from her, but at the time it felt safest to just stay away. When Ksenia was 16, her mother caught her kissing a girl. This, as you can imagine, didn't go over well. Nadia kicked her out of their apartment and Mikhail didn't even notice she was gone until the next week. They had never had much money, but being homeless and living on the streets was hell. It was difficult and dirty and dangerous. Then she met a military recruiter and joined, having lied about her age. At least there she was given a bunk and a little to eat. She excelled in her training, years of abuse from her mother and months spent on the street helped to acclimate her to screaming sergeants and harsh physical conditions. Within ten years she was assigned to EKO Scorpion. It was an opportunity, they told her, to prove her love for her country. She saw it as a way to make at least one of her parents a little proud of her. Turned out, she was pretty good at killing people and being on a team that didn't technically exist. Then she met a woman. A wonderful, funny, sweet woman named Marina Petrovic. They fell in love and long story short, Ksenia realized that she couldn't hold Marina with the same hands that she had used to kill. So she decided to quit. Legally, they couldn't marry but they had decided to live out their lives in the country as if they were. They bought a house and even lived in it for a while. Ksenia did everything she could to keep her safe, but it wasn't enough because one day she came home and found Marina dead. She'd been shot three times in the chest and left to bleed out. No one just quits. No one ever truly escapes. The Scorpions had killed Marina in case she knew anything and they were going to kill Ksenia too. She had been the real target. Then Sokovia fell, Novi Grad was dropped out of the sky and chaos ensued. Ksenia faked her death, changed her name and ran. As far as most people know, she died then. They're still out there, still looking, they'll find her one day, she's sure of it. But for now she's back to her old ways. Killing and maiming for money. At least this time she can say she's doing it for herself and not to prove anything.
