Soo Hee's pov
On the next day, I went to school as usual, first things first meeting up with my besties, Jiyoung and Hanee. Hanee and I, like always would talk about the Vixx's contest like always. "Hey Hanee, have you thought about what you're gonna say in the video that needs to be submitted to that Vixx's official web page yet?" I asked.
"Of course I have, I even wrote the things I'll be saying on a paper" said Hanee proud of herself for doing so. "Wow you really do want to get picked don't you?" I chuckled. "Ohh I don't know..." Hanee answered sarcastically. "Okay okay fine, I know you want to get picked for the contest. Maybe I shouldn't have asked the obvious" I laughed. "Duhh exactly" exclaimed Hanee stating the obvious.
AT HOME
Both eomma and appa were just done washing up after coming home from work. After that, I helped eomma to make radish kimchi and bibimbap for dinner. Then, I helped oppa to set up the table. "Thank you for the meal!", we all said in unison and started eating in silence. Several minutes later, everyone was still eating. I cleared my throat.
"Eomma appa, I have something to ask you guys", I stated. "Oh sure honey, spill it then" my mum smiled. I told her every piece of information about the Vixx's contest and asked her and appa's permission to enter the contest. "Well, it doesn't sound like a negative or a bad activity so, why not? You have my permission to enter the contest darling" my eomma said after hearing my explanation about the contest.
"Thank you thank you so much eomma! Saranghaeyo!! " I said giving her a bear hug. Then I looked at appa, still waiting for his answer. Appa looked at me and rubbed his temple followed by a big sigh coming from his mouth. Looking at his actions, I felt a tight knot forming in in my stomach.
This could not be good. "Well appa? What do say?" I asked asked him nervously. "Hmmm I think you should participate in this contest thing." My appa encouraged. "Huhhh jinjja?! Ohh appa gumawo!! You had me scared there with your actions and all" I stated. "I was just playing with you" appa chuckled.
Somewhere else in Korea (at the same time)
Ken's pov
Da In just texted me saying she wanted to meet at our favourite cafe' in 15 minutes as she wanted to talk about something. I texted her back saying I'll be there. Just thinking about her makes me smile. That's how much I love my girlfriend. Yup, Da In became girlfriend since two years ago. I met her through a close friend. My heart would beat at a really fast pace whenever I see Da In and at that moment, I knew I had to get to know her more.
As I was driving my car to the cafe' that Da In wanted us to meet, I kept on wondering on what Da In actually wanted to talk about 'cause the text she sent me sounded like she wanted to talk about something serious.
The coffee that I ordered for myself and Da In arrived at the same time as when Da In walked through the cafe' door and made her way towards me."Thank you" I said to the waitress who just delivered the drinks I ordered. "You're welcome and please enjoy the drinks" the waitress bowed and went on to continue her duty.
"Annyeong Ken-ah!!" Da In greeted me cutely. "Annyeong to you too my dear, Da In" I chuckled at her cuteness and teased her right after giving her a peck on the cheek. "Hey stop that" Da In giggled and pushed my shoulder in playful manner.
After a couple of minutes has passed with just us two drinking our drinks quietly, Da In cleared her throat. Something she would do when she's nervous. Noticing her doing that, I averted my gaze to her, looking away from the fall leaves I was watching from inside the cafe's glass window.
I looked at Da In confused. "Da In-ah, what's wrong? Are you sick or something?" I asked my girlfriend whose hands were beginning to shake slowly. "And why are your hands shaking?" I asked her again. Then suddenly, a teardrop fell from her cheek. She was crying. It pains me so much to see my loved ones getting hurt or cry.
I wasted no time hugging her. "Awwe, shhh shhh Da In, it's okay. I'm here." I cooed to Da In to calm her down. After a few minutes just staying like that, Da In finally calmed down but I just kept looking at her not wanting to rush her with the questions I have in my mind.
"Sorry about that" Da In sniffled. "Aww it's fine. That's what boyfriends are for remember? They're supposed to comfort their girlfriends." I smiled and Da In weakly returned it.
After she was fully composed, Da In looked at me with her eyes still swollen. "Ken, I said I wanted to meet up with you here because there was something important that I wanted to tell you right?" Da In asked.
"Yeah you did" I replied remembering back the text she sent me to come and meet her here. "Well, is it okay if I tell you the 'important' thing now?" she asked. "Go ahead, I'm all ears" I assured her by rubbing her back soothingly.
"You already know that my appa is a businessman. And as a businessman, he has to move a lot. Last week, he got a promotion to move out of the country and work somewhere else and he agreed to do it. But this time, he planning to bring the family along including me since he needs to work at that place permanently." Da In told me. "Ohhh" I sighed.
"But that's no problem since I can just ride the plane whenever I want to visit you" I said quickly jumping onto the conclusions. "But that's the thing Ken! Appa purposely didn't tell me the country we're moving to. I also begged my mum to tell me the name of the country we're moving to but she didn't budge"
Da In told me starting to tear up. "Why won't your dad tell you the place you're moving to?" I asked really confused to why Da In's dad would do such thing. "Appa knows about our relationship and he's against it without telling me the reason why. So, I guess he figured that I'd tell you about this and he purposely didn't tell me where we'd be moving to to prevent you from ever seeing me again" she explained and sobbed.
I, once again, hugged Da In while still trying to process everything she just told me in my head. Da In then lifted her head up, her face now swollen from crying too much. She gave me a sweet and tender kiss and started to say something again.
"Ken-ah, listen to me properly okay? We have to break up. When I'm gone, I don't want you to waste your time and find me 'cause it might affect your career. When I'm gone, please find someone else who's better than me and be happy with her. And lastly, please don't ever wait for me because I don't think I'm coming back here..." said Da In clearly but still with a hint of sadness in her voice.
Suddenly, two men dressed in black suits came towards our table. I recognise them, they're Da In's appa's bodyguards. "Let's go Da In. We have to go now and we need to hurry" the first one said. "What? Where are we going?" Da In asked with her lips trembling.
"You and your family are boarding the plane in 25 minutes to the country you're moving to. Now let's go" the second one answered and pulled onto Da In's arm in a rough manner. "Yahh don't touch her like that" I said, getting mad with the way they were treating Da In.
"But wait, why are we going so soon? I need to say goodbye to Ke-" her sentenced were cut as the two bodyguards unhesitantly dragged her towards a silver car that was waiting for her outside.
I froze on my spot as these scenes unfold right before my eyes. I quickly snapped out of my thoughts and charged towards one of the bodyguards. "Let my girlfriend go!" I screamed. But the bodyguard proved that he was stronger than me and he easily pushed me with one hand making me stumble and hit my back on the wall. It ached so much but that was not the matter at that moment.
"Ken, if you want me to be happy, please do as I said and I love yo-" Da In cried as she was being pushed into the car. "Da In-ah!!" I yelled not wanting to lose her and tried to catch up with the car Da In was in but I was too slow. The car drove at a full speed slowly disappearing into the darkness of the night.
I fell on my knees and sobbed loudly not caring the looks I was receiving from the people walking by. After realising that it won't do me any good if I just stay there, I then drove back to Vixx's dorm with tears still pouring down my eyes. I surely am gonna miss Da In so much...
