Whoa, he is stubborn as hell like he said!

I sat down on the wooden bench near the tree. A soft breeze kissed my face, calming my rage. I stretched my legs and flexed my tense shoulders, taking in the afternoon air.

I put on my earbuds and
clicked on the play button. I glanced at my wristwatch.

"There's still time." I pulled out the book second of the Luxen Series. I had finished reading  'Obsidian' and now it's time for 'Onyx'. I scanned the book cover before opening it.

I was on page 2nd when I saw four pairs of Black Adidas trainers halting before me.

"What are you reading, nerd?" Mason abruptly yanked the book from my hands and scanned the book. I paused the music and slipped the earbuds inside my jacket's pocket.

Why is no one letting me hear this song?

"Oh, some romance novel," Jack gushed from beside him. Two more guys, apparently from the football team with broad shoulders and bulky bodies standing behind them.

"Aww," Mason tried to make a cute face but failed terribly. It looked like a chicken was pouting.

Nope! I guess a chicken can even pout better than him.

My lips twitched as I stood up.

"What's so funny, nerd?"

I was riled up from my argument with Axel. I didn't realize and the words were already out of my mouth, "That look on your face. It's hilarious."

"Come again," he said, a frown creasing his hard forehead; his hands on his hips as he leaned forward.

"I didn't know you are that dumb. Here," I showed him his face in my phone's camera, and he glared at me.

"Are you making fun of me?" he snapped, his hands balled in fists.

"Nope, I am complimenting you."

"Really?!" He looked surprised, even a light pinkish blush tainted his cheeks as he averted his gaze.

Is he a chump?!

"No, I am just talking about my neighbours," I said with a shook of my head, with a shrug, and put my hands in my jeans pocket.

"Oh!" He said disappointment visible on his face, his lips forming an O and I didn't help but laugh out loud.

"He is talking about you," Jack whispered in his ear and his glare returned.

"How dare you?!" he snapped flaring his nostrils, his face turning red with fury.

"Did you fall from bed or something when you were small?"

He scratched his head, confused, "I didn't think so though I fell quite sometimes while playing football." His minions snickered, Jack barely suppressed his laugh.
