Season 1 Spoilers!

I adjust my cloak slightly as Blaze, my horse, comes to a stop in front of the gate. I turn around to see my squad, "we part ways here kiddos, stay safe out there. Remember don't break the formation even if you are in danger, and follow my brother's commands even if it means you die. Now head to your place in the formation," I say in a strict voice but I hope they are all fine, I truly love my cadets. They salute before starting to gallop away.

"Mikasa! Before you go, be careful. You are alone out there," I say to the small girl who adjusts her scarf before nodding my way. I gallop to the formation, finally exiting the wall. The sun shines brightly against my face and I grip the reins of blaze tighter, picking up my speed a little, trying to get to my position in the right back.

"Armin," I greet, "Section commander Smith," he gives me a gentle smile. "I have a question, shouldn't we have a V formation?" Armin asks me and I nod looking ahead at the tall trees. "Well, our current formation is better for our objective at the moment. Even though it puts the back, us, in a lot of danger,"

"So, we die to protect Eren," Reiner says from my left scoffing. "We do, Commander Erwin demanded us to, we do what he says," "But, he is your brother! and he still puts you in the weakest spot of the formation!" Reiner says as he gives me a confused look. "Yeah, it may be the weakest spot but I am one of the most capable soldiers here, which is why I am here. Now, will you stop questioning the commanders' plan, cadet? I grit and he nods softly.

We gallop faster towards the woods, a huge, abnormal titan chasing us three. The sky is full of red, black, and purple smoke, indicating that many of our comrades are in danger. I turn to look at the boys beside me, Armin has a determined but panicked look on his face but Reiner looks calmed? almost like he isn't worried that a titan is chasing us at lightning speed.

The loud steps break my thoughts, shit I don't want to die, not now, I still haven't even told them how I feel. "GO FASTER, I WILL HOLD IT OFF," I say as Armin and Reiner start getting ahead of me. "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING (Y/N) NO! YOU WILL DIE!" Armin yells, "JUST- GO AND TELL MY BROTHER I AM SORRY," I say as I whisper to blaze, "keep running to safety dear," as I jump off of my horse landing on my feet perfectly.

I grip my blades tightly and I see the female titan slow down her speed until she comes to a complete stop in front of me. That's it, I stopped her, my cadets will be safe for now. I smile in victory and she kneels down in front of me. My eyes widen at the familiar crystal blue eyes, there's no way, right? This can't be her. The titan's hand starts making its way towards me, she will kill me if I don't do something.

Before she can grab me I quickly dodge her hand and hook my gear in her shoulder, grappling towards her nape. My eyes widen as her hands cover her nape, and when I try to slice it my blades break in half. I land on the soft grass looking at my blades in disbelief, she can think? This confirms that she is like Eren, that she could be her.

I look up at the titan only to notice she isn't here anymore, I groan in annoyance and dump my blades replacing them for my last extra pair. Now I have no horse and barely any gas. I grab a flare and shoot it in the sky, in hopes of someone finding me. Deep down I know no one will, shit look around for fucks sake, there are thousands of other flares. Thousands of comrades waiting to be saved too.

Well, the only thing left to do is walk to the woods and find shelter from the titans.

It's starting to get dark, I had to fight a few titans here and there finally leaving me with no fuel. My final sparks of hope for survival start leaving my heart. I sit against one of the small trees, exhausted, if I walk a few more minutes I could make it to the forest but if I encounter even the smallest titan I am dead. I have no fuel and only one working blade.

There is barely any smoke in the sky left, does that mean they left? I whistle loudly once again in hopes of Blaze making her way towards me. My leg is bleeding too much for my comfort and I feel a warm drop of blood falling from my nose. I grab my last flare and shoot it up in the almost dark sky. Then I sit and wait, staring at the beautiful scenery in front of me.

It's almost dark when I see a light heading my way, gathering all the strength I have left, I stand up and start limping towards it. It gets, closer until it notices me and halts to a stop, it's Levi. I smile and he rushes to me, "(Y/N)! What happened? Are you injured?!" he asks worriedly. "Yeah, I am fine- just help me up," "right, btw we found Blaze, she is fine," he says as he helps me get into the small cart. "God, we thought we lost you," he says softly looking at all of the wrapped corpses in front of us. The two cadets on the horses salute me and I dismiss them, urging them to get us back into the walls.

"Where's everyone? Are they alright?" I ask and his eyes become watery making me panic slightly, is Hange okay? I wonder anxiously. "Don't worry Erwin and Hange are fine," "What is it then?" I say grabbing his calloused hand in my own. "My squad, they all died," he grits and I gasp as a couple of tears leave my eyes. Petra died. "shit," I whisper and he looks up at me gently squeezing my hand. "It's okay," I say "we are okay," he smiles at me and we continue our way to the walls in comfortable silence.

When we arrived at the walls the citizens were greeting us, waiting for sons, daughters, wives, and husbands, to return home. Hope glimmering in their eyes, eyes of parents that don't know their children had been brutally murdered. Eyes of a lover not knowing that the kiss they shared before the expedition was the last one. I bite the inside of my cheek as my eyes become watery.

"Y/N!" I hear the voice I have grown to love to scream my name. I quickly ask the cadet to stop the cart as I see Hange jogging towards us. I exit the cart, grunting as my leg hits the ground and I limp towards them. We meet in a bone-crushing hug, their head over mine as I hear them take a deep breath. I wrap my hands around their waist pulling them impossibly close to me, honey coats my nose and I smile. I feel butterflies and fear, fear of falling in love. "You are okay," they whisper and I pull away slightly looking up at their beautiful face.

Hazel eyes brimmed red from tears, framed by glasses and a few strands of hair. My hand involuntarily makes its way to their cheek and I caress their face. "You are okay," I parrot her words as we both smile like idiots, her right hand on my waist as her left one holds my other hand. I caress her face and move my hand to her neck pulling her closer until our foreheads meet. Our breaths are mingled and a small squeeze to my waist gives me a sudden burst of courage and I start leaning in.

"(Y/N)!" UGH, why now! I pull myself away from Hange and they give me an apologetic smile. Turning around I see my brother walking towards me, an angered look on his face and I gulp, 'shit what did I do now'.

"You disobeyed your commander," he grits as he starts getting closer. Hange quickly places their body in front of mine in a protective stance. "What did I do?" I ask gently and his eyes softened for a moment before returning to their previous state. "You broke the formation when I clearly told you not to! You put everyone's lives at risk, including your own!" My first thought was how the fuck does he know? then I figured Armin probably told him. "I did it to save two of my cadets," "I DON'T CARE WHY YOU DID IT, you are in trouble Smith," he said before turning around and walking away somewhere else he was needed.

I hear Hange sigh before they grab my hand and smile softly at me, "let's get you patched up?" they say and I blush, smiling at them and nodding softly.
