Remus knew his life was nothing short of ordinary. He was a werewolf, a wizard. But never did he think anything else would make his life even more of a disaster.

He sat in the infirmary room, his head spinning as he tried to comprehend the news. Remus was thirteen-years-old and he had just been told that losing his virginity lead to an irreversible mistake. He never wanted to have kids, he didn't even want a girlfriend.

Amelia however came crashing into his life with the goofiest smile and made him see the moon as more than just a pain. She made him see the world for all the beauty that it was. She taught him how to love himself when he believed no one ever could.

"I'm not having it Rem . . .  I just can't, it'll ruin my life, both of ours lives, I promise this is best."

Remus's head shot up to look at the girl. Tears falling down his face that he couldn't stop. He just looked at her unable to form any words as his decision had been made for him as if what he wanted didn't even matter.

"My parents are taking me to France, I'm going to have an abortion and live there." The girl sat up wiping the fresh tears off her face. She pulled Remus to her and he stood in between her legs, "I know we're young but I love you Remus and I always will. But sometimes things just aren't meant to be."

Remus nodded in acknowledgment but didn't say anything.

The girl pushed Remus back lightly, kissed his cheek and left, never looking back. And Remus promised himself he would never try and find her.

Only it had been nine months, and over the summer a baby had been left on the Lupins door step a letter tucked in beside her with Remus's name on the front in perfect cursive.

Hope Lupin opened the door, looking around, not being met with anyone until she looked down at the sight of a baby. A baby who had the same hazel eyes as her son, and herself.

Hope yelled for Remus to come down from his room and he did, running to the kitchen as he had never heard his mother yell so loud. He remembered the moment perfectly, the look of disappointment, the way she told him to sit down, and the moment when she put the baby in front of him and the opened letter she made him read aloud.

Remus's eyes widened as he read the letter with shaky hands. It was Amelia's perfect writing, and the contents would throw him into shock he didn't now would ever ware off.

Dear Remus Lupin,
I'm sorry I lied, I'm sorry I left. This is Allie, our daughter. I couldn't do it. I went to the clinic with my mama and I was sitting in the room terrified. I just couldn't go through with it but I knew I couldn't raise her. I leave her to you because I know you'll make the right decision and it will give me peace at mind thinking she's with you even if she isn't.

I wanted to keep her, I did but my parents refused. They don't think having a baby is except able until your married, something I told them we wouldn't be doing as we're only thirteen. I love you greatly Remus and I hope you know how sorry I am but I this is best, at least I hope it is.

Love, Amelia

Remus looked up at his mother with pleading eyes, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you mum, but I thought she was taking care of it."

"I'm not mad at you Remus, I'm just disappointed."

Remus looked down at the table, in the small basket his daughter was in. He went to touch her, poking her tiny fingers with his pointer finger and she immediately grabbed it with her had, her grip being stronger than he thought it would be as she brought it up to her mouth.

Hope watched the two a small smile forming on her lips as she did, "Remus I need you to know that if you keep her, it's going to be extremely hard. People are going to say things and raising a child comes with a lot of challenges."

"I know," Remus nodded looking up from his baby and to his mother, "but I grew up a long time ago mum, I had too because being a werewolf came with a lot of challenges. Being a wizard came with its own too. But when Lia told me she was getting an abortion, I cried for weeks, distanced myself from everyone because she made the decision without me, she never asked me what I wanted. I know it will be hard but I know now that I was always supposed to be her dad."

Hope smiled down at her son and kissing the top of his head, "well then, we should welcome little Allie to the family."

Remus took a few moments to think it over, "we need to welcome Aliyah to the family, Aliyah Hope Lupin."

Hope teared up at the name, Aliyah had been her sisters name, her sister that passed away when she was ten and never got the chance to grow up. She teared up at her name being the middle name. She hugged Remus a little tighter this time. "I love it my boy."

Remus stood up and pulled the little girl out of the basket holding her in his arms for the first time and his heart melted as she looked back.

When Lyall came home later that day he wasn't angry with his son but he was very disappointed and he never masked his disappointment with Remus. But Remus grew to not mind the facial expression his father shot his way every time he looked at him. He grew to learn that his father would simply always be just that; disappointed at him for things he could not control and disappointed at him for the choices he made.

But Remus didn't care because even though his life was a disaster, Aliyah made it a beautiful one.
