Thalia sat in the library with books spread out all over the table in front of her. She was studying for midterms like crazy getting ready for Christmas to come in the next few weeks.
Only the Gryffindor group she's been seeing an awfully lot of had the same idea. Or more like James peeked at the map and thought, let's get Moony a girlfriend.
They walked in and over to the girl. Lily sitting right next to her getting right into her studying as well. Remus sat across from her with Sirius beside him. James was beside Lily at the head of the table with Peter across from him.
And usually Aliyah would sit with Remus and be a huge distraction for the boy but today she ran over to Thalia who picked up the girl and let her sit in her lap but stayed quiet as Thalia had given her some chocolate. The young girl soon fell asleep.
Remus looked over at the two and didn't know what feeling were stirring inside of him. He always thought one day Amelia would come back and she was his one but he had never felt this way about anyone before.
He got a few butterflies with her and his cheeks would go pink. But with Thalia he got red cheeks and fireworks that constantly went off and his heart would melt at her sight, she was like the only one in the room until someone made themselves known.
"I can't believe Christmas is almost here already." Lily spoke.
"I know, pretty soon the year will be over and we'll all be real adults," James made hand gestures like his mind was exploding.
"I've been a real adult since I was thirteen," Remus shrugged, "know I'll just be able to be a better dad and hopefully get a decent job."
"You will," Thalia nodded as she wrote more things down on her parchment.
"Thalia?" Remus asked.
"Yeah?"
"Can you look at me for a moment."
Thalia nodded writing down a few more words and then closing the pen and meeting his eyes, giving him her undivided attention, "Yes?"
"Would you go on a date with me."
James started poking Lily with a goofy smile as she shook her head at her boyfriend. Sirius was overly excited, but it was a mask as he hid behind his true feelings. But Peter, he had disappeared and no one knew where the small boy had gone.
"I don't know," Thalia gave him a smirk like she was about to test him, "will Aliyah be there?"
"Well, yeah... or—"
"Perfect. Doing great so far," Remus smiled at the girl.
"Where?"
"Hogsmead?" Remus questioned. "No... it's a surprise."
"I like the sound of that."
"Will you?" Remus asked getting impatient.
"I will. I would love too."
James went to cheer but Lily covered his mouth and kicked Sirius's chin to make sure he didn't cheer either and ruin the moment. But Sirius wasn't cheering, instead there was an aching in his heart, one he tried so hard to suppress.
"Great. This Saturday, I'll pick you up at five pm?"
"I'll be waiting."
