After yesterday I was even more excited to be using my powers again, even if it was with the help of River. I tried using them at home but I broke one of my vases. I told Milo all about it once River and I finished. I wanted to make more friends but I didn't know how.
I also haven't got to see my family and friends down on earth like promised. I would ask but I don't think I'm quite ready. What if they're happy without me? Have they moved on? Forgotten about me? Do they even care? I don't want to know the answers to any of these. Sure I had friends but barely. They would get to move on with their life, and do all the things that I couldn't. This all feels like a dream and if I see them it'll be real.
I wonder how Milo died. He seems to be my age. For all, I know he could've died a million years ago. From the way River acts, he probably died in the 1700s.
Currently, I'm in my kitchen leaning against my kitchen counter and staring out my window, thinking about all of this when suddenly I hear a knock at my door. Since Milo is the only person who comes over, I rush over longing for some company.
Instead, I'm met with River and my smile drops almost immediately.
"River? What are you doing here?" I ask as he invites himself in.
"And how the hell do you know where I live?" I add.
He frowns. "I can't visit a friend?"
"We're not friends," I say.
He scrunches his face pretending to take offense. "Ouch."
"Now seriously what are you doing here?"
"We were supposed to train like an hour ago," he huffs, looking annoyed that I don't know.
I look at him confused. "You didn't tell me."
He sighs, "Yes I did."
"No, you didn't" I argue.
"I did."
"Liar." I accuse.
He goes to respond but Milo's voice interrupts from behind me.
"Sorry Aurora but he did."
I turn around to see Milo walking in through my door and shutting it behind him. I turn my head back around and see River smirking at me knowing I have no one on my side.
I roll my eyes and look at Milo. "What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to see you use your powers so I'm joining you for today."
"There's nothing to see, I can barely even use them yet." I groan.
He grins wide. "That's why you have two great trainers today."
River scrunches up his face. "I would say there's only one great trainer and one mediocre trainer." Obviously referencing himself as the great.
"True." Milo agrees. "But I just didn't want to call you mediocre."
River chuckles, rolling his dark eyes.
"What are both of your powers anyway?" I questioned suddenly curious.
"I'll have to show you mine once we're outside." Milo addressed. "I don't wanna make your whole house collapse or anything."
My eyebrows furrow and I give him a confused expression. "Okayyyy," I say, shifting my gaze to River, who already knows what I'm about to ask him. "What about you?"
"You sure you won't get scared?" He asks, smugly smiling.
I lightly laugh."Of you? No."
I watch him think over whether he should show me or not. "You'll see when I use them to kick your ass."
