Title: "My Vow To You"

Note: this is heavily inspired from a commercial a friend showed me on Discord called The Vow, and the speech scene from Love, Rosie.

Most of these will be from your thoughts. This is short compared to my other works since I'm busy cramming to submit my art portfolio.

Warnings: get ready for a surprise at the end. I really mean it.

'Today was the day. The day of the wedding. The day that all our worries would finally disappear. The day where both of us would finally be forget the past. We both would be able to restart our lives with a clean slate.'

'Do I look good enough like this? I don't wanna let Sylas down.'

You thought adjusting your collar. He had picked the outfit just for you. You didn't want him to disappoint him. So you chose it. You wanted him to smile for the most important day in both of your lives.

'I will never forget your smile when I first laid my eyes on you that day. The day that I'd become your shield.'

You thought to yourself, remembering the day both you and Sylas escaped Demacia.

'It was when you rescued me from that horrible prison cell. We always talked to each other secretly beforehand. You'd find ways to communicate with me about your grand plan. Even if that meant you throwing a dead rat with a note on it through my cell. I don't even know how the guards didn't notice a dead rat slip from the doors keeping your cage locked.'

You chuckled at the memory.

'It was so stupid, but it still somehow worked... When we finally broke free from the shackles, seeing each other's faces, as you reached your hand towards me, I only had one thought racing in my mind.'

'I told myself that I would be the shield to your sword. I would protect you from all that would try to harm you. That we'd be together till the end.'

You looked over your shoulder, seeing Sylas walking towards you, towards the altar. You smiled, seeing how he looked. Compared to how he looked when you both just escaped prison, he was definitely happier now.

'All the struggles you both had endured, had finally paid off. This day would be the day both of us would be free.'

'I remember the day we talked about our plans to invade Demacia. You talked so passionately about it. You were like a flame, refusing to be put out.'

'Right then I knew that you'd be the one I'd want to spend the rest of my life with. That you'd be the one I'd shield from any more suffering to come from this cruel world. So to you, I'll make this promise...'

'That I'll be the man for you'

'I promise to make you laugh'

'I'll be there when you're in need.'

'I'll be there to help you when you want me to.'

'I'll join you for whatever cause you want to fight for'

'I'll be patient with you at all times'

'I promise that I'll never change for anyone but you.'

Sylas approached you, seeing you, he smiled, grateful for everything. You smiled back at him with tears threatening to spill from your eyes.

'I have and always honestly, truly, and completely love you.'

You both stared at each other smiling happily without a care in the world.

'I want you to be the happiest man on all of Demacia. That's why...'

Sylas glanced at you one last time before passing your figure. A tear fell from your face, as he approached the woman beside you, smiling at her. The woman he'd be marrying, Luxanna Crownguard. The woman that you wish you were.

'Even if in the end, we were never meant to be together, and you were always meant to be with her.'

Sylas takes her arms in his. Staring at Lux, lovestruck. Tears sliding slowly down your cheeks, as they kissed without a care in the world.

'Even if it means that my heart is to be broken, for you to be free.'

The couple glanced at you smiling. You wiped your tears away, forcing a smile on your face. Trying reassure them that everything was fine.

'So this is my vow to you. My vow, to always stick by you, and love you to the bitter end. Even if it means that my love for you will never be reciprocated, and that I may be broken for all of eternity.'

You looked at them somberly. The cheers from the attendees deafening your silent cries.

'My vow to you,

to always be your shield.'
