Jesse's POV
"So you're telling me that an ex Italian mafia boss is planning to murder five people in a weekend long party? Like at random?" I say "exactly what I'm telling you" nodding and he says "I'm really getting put right into it aren't I?" I say "the Deputy is setting you up to fail on this mission, I'll show you everything I know this week, party is next weekend, were going to go to the party, were going to find this guy before he does anything, alright?" He nods and I say "you have a lot to learn in a week, are you sure you're ready?" He says "challenge accepted" and I smirk saying "perfect, I have a few small things that I have to do, you can be my shadow this week? We can get you a conceal carry license too, we can do that first cause those take a bit to process then I have some other stuff to show you so you're ready for everything, ready to get started?" He says "I'm ready when you are" and I stand up saying "alright" pulling a file out of my desk drawer that is just information on a drug dealer, tonight were gonna be going to a bar to scope out a drug dealing for one of the small things we can do. Easy stuff. I say "follow me" and he says "yes, sir" and I say "we work together, you don't have to do that" and he says "it bugs you and it's a turn on for you at the same time, I can tell, so, maybe I'll do it just cause" shrugging. I say "you're smart" and he says "I try" and we go to the training shooting range down in the basement and Brynn says "this is how I go out" and I chuckle saying "you'll be fine" rolling my eyes. I show him a glock twenty two saying "ever fired one of these guys?" He says "yup, dad owns a gun shop in the middle of nowhere, I've fired everything on that wall before" and I say "nice, so I don't have to teach you anything, you don't have any kind of conceal carry license do you?" He says "nope, I lived in the middle of nowhere, a lot of people would carry without the license" and I say "that's illegal I think" chuckling and he says "I never carried but it's a thing in the middle of nowhere" and I chuckle saying "fair, hit that target for me" handing him the pistol. I say "three times, right in the middle" and he hits it the first three tries and I say "perfect" and he hands it back to me and I put it right back on the wall. I say "I love it when I don't have to teach too much" and he chuckles saying "you're going to have to teach me all the other stuff" and I chuckle saying "I'm not good at explaining how to use a gun so its nice when people come in here already knowing what to do." He says "that's normally nice anywhere when people know how to do what you are gonna show them" and I chuckle saying "that's true." We go back to where we were before and I go to Jamie saying "I need to get a conceal carry license, what can you do for me? I'd like to get him one by Saturday" and Jamie says "I can have one ready by Friday if he can sign now" and I say "perfect" and he gives me the papers. He says "we already have the background checks, so he doesn't have to sign much" and I say "thank you" and he says "you're welcome, buddy" and I hand the clip board over to Brynn and he looks up at me saying "this is it?" I say "we already have background checks on you and all the other stuff for the most part, so, yup." He says "yay me" as he signs and he hands it back to me in about five minutes and I hand it to Jamie saying "pass it along, boy" and he says "I am, fool" rolling his eyes. I say "don't roll your eyes at me" and he says "I don't work for you, I'm your bestie" and I say "shut up" and he smiles and I roll my eyes saying "I'll find you" and Brynn and I go back to my office. I say "ok, tonight is gonna be easy, were gonna go into a bar, there's going to be a drug deal, just gotta get the guy in custody, not that hard, this guy has been in the clinker before, he's not gonna try very hard" and he says "sounds easy I guess." I say "you don't have to do anything, just so you're ready for Saturday basically, this is just so you have experience before we go into a giant party to do this. Start small kind of thing." He says "makes sense, since I don't have to do anything, can I wear whatever I want?" I say "I'm not in charge of you and you're shadowing me basically, so you can do whatever just don't get hammered cause if you do, were both in trouble." He says "deal, I don't feel like doing the hungover thing tomorrow anyway" and I chuckle saying "I don't feel like doing the hungover thing ever" and we chuckle. I bite my lip saying "were bringing a guy in tonight, hope you're ready to hang out in a bar" and he says "what bar?" I say "the upscale one up town" and he says "so that means I can get dressed up?" I say "yeah, whatever you want" sipping my coffee. He says "you're a real one" and I chuckle saying "I haven't heard that phrase in a while, how old are you anyway?" He says "I'm twenty five, it's called nice moisturizer" and I chuckle saying "I like you, you aren't driving me up a wall like most of the people that have been my second for stuff" and he says "they can't be that bad." I say "I've had people fired cause they were just so one, bad at their job, two, just annoyed me so much" and we chuckle. I say "ok, were leaving here in about two hours for this thing, you can leave if you want" and he says "great, I have to go get ready" and I say "I'm taking you on a fake date, I hope you are ready" and we chuckle. He says "pick me up here, I'll be ready in two hours" handing me a sticky note and I say "alright" nodding and he leaves.
