The moon was bright tonight and the forest had a low hum of life. No reports yet. I picked up my speed to run along the southern boarder. It was mostly mountains and forests. All other predators steered clear of us. We weren't normal sized wolves. Especially Kota, he was a big black wolf, his eyes were yellow like his fathers wolf and his dominance was known already. My wolf was a brown-silver with blue eyes. She was strong and powerful. Everything I wanted to be. The person I was supposed to become due to birthright. This transition was a blessing to me. I never had a purpose before it. I didn't know the world around me I was missing. Running in the forest was the most free I had felt nice discovering our tribes secrets. Since transitioning for the first time.
As I was running a red streak flashed through the forest just across the boarder. I linked Kota. There is a disturbance south side across the boarder. I am pursuing within our boarder. I heard his howl as he linked the others to remain where they are as he came to my section. One of our boarders ran up to a cliff and ocean. Kota was supposed to patrol that area because the threat of attack was minimal, allowing him to be reassigned in dire times. I continued to follow the streaks scent along our boarder. It was a female scent. She was one of them. Our enemy. I felt Kota's presence come beside me matching my speed as we continued the chance. We were getting very close to Kota's quadrant approaching the cliff. I linked Kota. Do we continue pursuit? He howled loud an flew past me. Gather the others and meet me at the cliff, I will follow her. I immediately turned off and the others joined me in our sprint to the cliff. Close by us Kota was chomping at the bit to get this female in his jaws pushing himself faster and lunging. We raced along side him and cornered her at the cliff. Without hesitation she dove into the water and vanished. Kota slid to a stop at the cliff edge and us just behind him. He huffed loud. We have to report this to the alpha. Patrols over were going back. I will link my father to send out the secondary patrol while we gather in the pack house. Grab your father Ella.
I sprinted into the woods and linked my father. Meeting at the pack house we have a breech. When I arrived behind the house he was already transitioned and waiting for me. We ran together to the pack house and everyone was out back in wolf form. Our most important meetings are held this way to ensure knowledge isn't leaked. The Alpha stood in the middle with Kota behind him and my father trotting up next to him. Our enemy has been spotted near the southern and western boarders. She is not a member of the Aldrich clan they have been contacted and made aware of the newcomer. We will up patrols at night send scouting missions into the forests of Canada to try to find their clan. He began walking in a circle and barring his teeth. We will eliminate this threat before it can do any harm. His dominance sent every warrior including myself kneeling at his will. In unison we all said, yes Alpha. He went up to each member and assigned them a role for this upcoming mission. Kota and I were both assigned to head to Canada with the Gamma Spur and Warrior Aiden.
We ran to Canada and got there as the sun was rising the scent was lost about a mile over the boarder. We had come across the scent of two men traveling with her, but that was also lost shortly after discovery. My head was spinning why was there another stupid vampire in our area. They were nothing but destruction. I was hungering for a chance to rip them to shreds with my teeth. The Gamma interrupted my thoughts. I have linked Alpha Black of our discoveries he wants us to check out Seattle on the way back. Lets go. He sprinted ahead with the warrior and we fell into formation. Kota was next to me and I saw the twinkle in his black eyes as we ran. He linked me. You look beautiful in the light. I shoulder checked him and sprinted forward. He knew I wasn't in love with him, but that didn't stop him from trying to get me to. I would be content in union with him. That was enough for the both of us.
We ended up around the out skirts of Seattle. A black Tahoe was waiting for us with clothes. Being naked around men use to scare me but none of them would look at me due to Kota's dominance. They knew I was his. But even then Kota wouldn't look at me either. He knew to give me space. I changed in the woods alongside the men and got into the back of the SUV with Kota. The Gamma took control of the vehicle as we sped towards the city. I kept my eyes out the window watching the blur of the forest turn into the blur of a city. We slowed down and turned off into a parking lot behind a pack run business. I stepped out of the vehicle and leaned up against the hood. Gamma Spur was in the car on the phone so we sat outside the SUV awaiting orders. Kota came up beside me. "So hows your training coming? Fast enough to replace this old man," He said slapping the hood of the vehicle. I laughed and rolled my eyes. "I am am more than ready. I want to be out there on my own before settling down," I teased at him. The warrior laughed.
Gamma Spur stepped out of the car. "Warrior Aiden take Kota to the known dens and I will take Ella to speak with the Aldrich's. We need to set the expectations." I saw Kota getting defensive over this. He linked me. Are you sure about this? Let me take your place. They are dangerous. My eyes shot to his. Ill be safe with the Gamma. I'm taking his place you'll have to get used to this. I brushed by him and followed Gamma Spur back to the SUV. I strapped in and slammed the door. Aiden and Kota where walking away. I could tell Kota was upset. The car ride to their house was about an hour. I kept thinking this could have been faster if we had ran. But we needed to be in human form to be able to speak with them. I had never had an encounter with them before. But I knew one day our paths would cross with me being the future Gamma and Luna. Their scent is repulsive and frankly their lifestyles don't mean they aren't killers. Their eyes were red once and they can easily change into them again. They revolted me.
We sped through the winding roads and eventual pulled up to a beautiful modern house encased in the woods. We got out of the Tahoe and rounded the vehicle to see the Aldrich clan standing on the porch. I stayed behind the Gamma, not looking them in their eyes. Not out of fear, but disgust. I glanced at them but kept my distance. There in the center was Collin Aldrich the leader of their clan and his wife Dawn clinging to him. Collin looked young maybe 25 years old. He had pale skin, golden eyes and blonde hair. Dawn was small and motherly. Her hair fell in loose black curls around her face and she smiled sweetly. Next to them where their "Children," all of it sick twisted lies they told the people in the towns. Ansley and Emerson, another couple of vamps with stupid powers. Ansley had intuition in battle and Emerson was telekinetic. A nasty pair. Ansley was the shortest of the bunch she had a cute sporty cut with auburn hair. Emerson was tall and lanky. He had side swept blonde hair. Next to them was Ash and Piper. They were both strikingly beautiful to the normal human eye. Another deception to lead them to their demise. Both were super tall and fit, brunettes. Piper had cheekbones for days, and Ash had a striking jawline. Towards the back leaning up against the wall alone was Harden. No one knew what his power was, many suspected he, like his precious Collin and Dawn, had no powers. Harden was muscular and tall. He had wavy locks of stark black hair swirling around his face. He never seemed to be a threat. Yet he was a predator like the rest.
