Gamma Spur stepped forward and began to speak. "We have reports of a female with red hair breaching our boarder. What do you know of this." He spoke commandingly. Collin stepped forward. "We have not seen any reports of our kind in the area but we will be sure to keep our ears out. She is a threat to both of us." He remained calm. They had flaws. They couldn't quite fit in with humans. They're too still, they move to fast, they speak from another time. Everything revolted me. I could feel their eyes on me. Gamma stepped back to my side. "This is Ella, she will be taking my place next year. Alpha thought a little face time beforehand would make the transition easier on all of us." I kept my eyes away from them. I don't know how Spur does this. So this is why Kota couldn't come. He would be so mad when we got back.
I stepped forward only making eye contact with Collin. "It will be my pleasure to handle relations next year." He smiled warily. "The pleasure is all mine Ella. We look forward to making your acquaintance." Ansley let out a small little giggle as she shifted her glance from Harden to me. It irritated me but I tried to remain calm. It was hard to keep my cool near them. The wolf inside me begged to kill them. She was harder to keep calm than I was. I swallowed the rage back and forced a smile. Gamma nodded his head to Collin and we got back into the car. The Aldrich's turned back into their home with Ansley and Emerson kissing sickeningly, in the arch of the doorway. Harden stayed behind. I felt his eyes bore into my head and I heard his sigh of frustration as he stood up straight. I finally let my eyes meet his glance as we pulled out and my breath hitched, I gasped.
Images flashed in my head of watching Harden in the woods, running with him in wolf form, us standing in a meadow. His golden eyes and my piercing blue ones. The world stopped for a moment right there. My heart started racing and our glance was broken. I sat back in the seat and could sense Gammas eyes on me. What the hell is going on? I struggled to catch my breath as the SUV sped forward. The forest started to blur as we headed back into the city. I remained quiet the whole ride there. All I could think about where his eyes, his lips, the way his body sparkled. I was beyond attracted to him. I felt a blush creep up my cheeks. I focused on lowering my heart rate. If Kota heard it he would be concerned. I bit my lip hard drawing blood as I struggled for control.
Kota and Aiden jumped into the back of the suv and and we sped off. Aiden linked us to report on what they found. No one has seen this read haired female, they weren't... I let the report fade into the background. I felt Kota's eyes on me as we sped back to the house. I wanted to remain in the silence, it was easy. As we approached the pack house I quickly jumped out and fled into the house to get my shower. I felt grimey and I wanted to escape Kota's worried stares. No one noticed me slip into the house as Gamma Spur updated Alpha Black. I grabbed my go bag from the locker room and headed up to a room to shower and rest. This day was too much. Something had changed inside me and I had no idea what.
I walked into the bathroom and saw the mess I was for the first time. My deep skin hid most of the dirt but there were black smudges across my face. It was normal to look this way after transitioning. For some reason I felt shame for my look. What had Harden thought of me when he saw me? What is wrong with me why do I care what a dirty vampire thinks of me? I jumped into the shower to clean myself. The water was refreshing and cool. My skin was always so hot and the cool water felt like it washed away the day. My head was still spinning from my encounter with Harden. I put on shorts and a sports bra and jumped into the bed. My legs felt like silk under the heavy duvet. My eyes drifted closed. And that was the first night I dreamt of Harden Aldrich.
Harden and I were in the meadow laying in a field of lavender. Behind us chaos was unfolding. Vampires fighting wolves. Kota killing Ash and Emerson killing Alpha Black. I gasped at the sight and was startled awake. Harden was in the corner of the room. I tried to wipe the sleep from my eyes but when I looked back he was gone. The window was open and the cool night air drafted into the room. His scent lingered but just enough to make me think I was crazy. He hadn't been there at all, had he? I was going crazy. My thoughts where causing my head to spin. I couldn't keep my wolf at bay any longer I ran down the steps and stepped into the night. My wolf bursted onward before I could take my clothes off. They shredded as I ran into a full sprint into the woods finally feeling the breaking of my bones and the elongating of my claws. She finally broke free as I ran through the forest.
I didn't know what I was searching for but my wolf was on the hunt. I let her take over as I mindlessly ran. Eventually I came to a stop in a cleaning in the woods. In front of me was Harden. He was on the other side of the clearing. Our eyes met and my wolf went crazy, it took everything in me not to howl. I swallowed it and before I could run off I transitioned. I fell to the ground in the clearing and passed out. Something was wrong. I fell to the floor and just before I hit I saw black. I was swallowed by it and it seemed to go on forever. Eventually images came flooding. Hardens eyes, they seemed to have some sort of hold on me. Was that his power? Was this vampire controlling me?
