Vins came to be and he found himself in a small room with a tiny bed. He got up but lay back down when his head felt heavier than he expected. He looked around the from from his prostate position trying to figure out where he was.
"Oh there you are. Awake I see." The sweet melodic voice of his wife came from the opposite side of him.
"Lisa, my darling. I've missed you." He said. This time getting up was easier with the motivation of seeing her together with him.
"Where is our baby girl?" He asked.
"Right here with me Vins."
"And Myron."
"I left him with you. Where is he?"
Vins started looking around frantically for his son. He moved from corner to corner flipping things over trying to find the child.

Jonathan took in Vins' condition with pity in his eyes. Right next to him was Max who seemed to have frozen in time and was just moving about like a robot.
"How long as he been like this?" He asked not specifying to who but the doctor answered him instead.
"A couple of days now. He wakes up, converses with himself and then gets frantic searching for something then we sedate him and he sleeps again. We make sure to push fluids when he is asleep so he doesn't go weak due malnutrition."
Jonathan nodded thoughtfully. He looked to his side to see his friend Leo playing with a young boy about one year and a few months old. Next to him was Max who was holding on to Myron like his life depended on it. He decided to distract the young man a bit to prevent him from worrying.
"Hey whose son is that?" He asked him using his head to point towards Leo.
"Oh that's my boy Jay Dennis. He's one and a quarter old." Max replied.
"Oh now that makes you a temporary father of two boys." He said jokingly only to realize the statement wasn't taken as a joke when Max uttered the next words.
"Three if you add a dead girl." Max had said.
Jonathan didn't know what to do about it so he awkwardly cleared his throat and turned to the doctor next to him. He needed a solution to this since he felt as though he was the only one this boy could anchor on.

Max observed Jonathan's posture. He knew what he had said wasn't such a nice thing and he felt bad especially because he knew Jonathan was just trying to cheer him up. He however felt entitled to say anything at this point of his life. Why would he not when his sister who was his only family was already rotting in her grave, his niece was now in the morgue waiting burial and his brother in law was psychotic.
On the other hand his baby mama dumped their son on him the very day he had threatened her with a law suit and he now had to take care of two boys on his own. He felt the weight on his shoulders but somehow he chose to ignore it. He had to be strong for his brother and for the two children under his care. He felt the need to be the adult in this situation.
He felt someone place a hand on his shoulder and he resisted the urge to just lean in and bawl his eyes out. Even though he acted strong all he wanted to do is break down and just let all the disappointment and fears wash away.
He looked up to see Leo holding his excited son who was oblivious to everything in his hands. Leo gave him a small smile that looked a lot more like a you can do it smile. He returned it with a nod and tuned in to the conversation between Jonathan and the doctor.
