Katsumi Yoshida couldn't sleep.
It wasn't particularly strange for the girl because a majority of the time, she would be working late, tapping on her keyboard or watching a drama well into the night.
Yet, the one time she had decided to retire for the night early, she was unable to drift off.
And it annoyed her.
So instead of grabbing her iPad and launching a new episode of a drama, Katsumi propped herself up, swung her legs over the bed and decided to have a peek through the dormitory to see who else might possibly be awake.
Her footsteps were as quiet as they could possibly be, not even the floor creaking at her weight as she moved past each door.
Her head peeked through the doorway, into the living room and disappointed at the lack of persons there, Katsumi retreated back to the warm covers of her bed.
She stared upwards, silently counting the glow-in-the-dark stars that she had set up for herself, bored as she willed herself to go to sleep.
The ping from her messages indicated that it was past midnight and letting out a sigh, she shut her eyes, hoping that somehow, she would manage to fall asleep.
Then, an idea struck her.
Scrambling to a sitting position, the girl reached for her phone once more, pressing a specific contact that she knew would help her drift to her slumber.
"Hello?"
The voice on the other line was groggy as he spoke, most likely having just woken up from the ring of his own mobile device.
"Youngjae, it's me," Katsumi whispered. "Forgive me for disturbing you so late at night, but I couldn't sleep,"
The Choi boy softened in his own bed. "Do you want me to sing you a lullaby?"
"Yes please," Katsumi mumbled. "That would be really nice,"
It wasn't rare for Katsumi to turn up to Youngjae's room in the dorms when she couldn't sleep, and ask him to sing her to sleep. But when the boy had gone on a miniature trip, she had found herself not able to close her eyes and rest. She would have asked the other boys, but it was Youngjae's voice in particular that could soothe her troubles.
Placing the phone beside her, Katsumi stared at her illuminated stars as Youngjae began to sing, his voice as smooth and as sweet as honey as the girl felt her eyelids droop.
His voice was so lovely.
Katsumi hummed as she pulled the warm covers over her shoulders, blissfully resting as Youngjae smiled from his side.
"Goodnight, noona,"
