Chapter 9 : Almost There

It's Saturday morning, right after the party last night. I was lucky that Mephiles was with me all the time when we were there, I was offered to drink alcohol and Mephiles knew it's not good for me. Some other couples did ended up getting drunk though, I don't know what happened to them after that and I really don't want to know.

Sonic seems to make it out alive, I wonder if he confessed already? But knowing him, I don't think he has yet.

Just as I was thinking about him, he showed up on my doorstep probably to annoy me as usual. I open the door and he quickly step inside, closing the door behind him.

"What now, Sonic?"

"Silver, I've made a huge discovery about Shadow!" He grab both of my.shoulders and stare deeply into my eyes.

"Uh...what is it?" I ask.

"He. Wants. A boyfriend."

I could facepalm right now because that's already so obvious since a long time ago. I decide to play along as if I just knew about it and gasp surprisingly at him.

"Oh really? That's very...unexpected" I smiled.

"I know right?! Silver, that means I have my chance to be with him!"

Oh you fool.

You complete fool.

You always have your chance since a few years ago, you're just too much of a coward to confess.

"If you know he prefers having a boyfriend over a girlfriend you can just confess right now" I suggested but of course he would shake his head as a no.

"Patient, Silver, I need time"

DUDE. This hedgehog think I haven't been patient?! My patience is actually growing thin because of him!

"Right..." I sighed "but you gotta do it before graduation" I said and he facepalm.

"I forgot we're already in our third year...our final exam is next month"

"I'll help you" I smiled and pat his shoulder "if you're too embarrassed to say it on his face, just text him"

Sonic took his phone and stare at it with a blush. Without a reason he threw it to my bed as he went to the corner of my room.

"I can't! Wouldn't that make me a coward?!"

"No it's not" I chuckled "but if you don't want to we can always make a plan to have you meet up with Shadow and-"

"No! I- I'm not ready for that!"

"Well too bad, you have to! Or else it'll be next month before you know it and we're all graduating!" I scolded and he whined like a child.

"What about...what about you, Silver?"

I raise my brow in confusion "what?"

"How did Mephiles confess to you?" He asked.

"Oh" I blush a little when trying to remember that moment "he invited me to hang out and confess to me at the end of our hang out" I said.

He stare at me for a moment before he sigh deppressingly.

"I wish I can be that confident..."

"I'm sure you can, Sonic!" I approached him and pull him away from the corner "and trust me, he definitely will accept your confession" I smiled.

"How are you so sure of that?" He asked.

"Because I can feel it for the longest of times"

I need to push in some confidence and bravery to this guy. If he doesn't confess now I don't know what will happen later. It's just a guest but I think he might be regretful and depressed if he doesn't confess before our graduation.

"Okay then, I trust you since you're the one with the mind power and all"

"That's not how my telekinesis works but okay" I chuckled.

FINALLY. Now I just have to help him tell Shadow about his feelings! This is going to be hard but I have to do my best so they can be a couple! And maybe stop them from being a nuisance to me!

Sonic and I discuss our plan on giving Shadow the romantic confess. I don't think it has to be romantic but if Sonic wants it that way then it's all on him I guess.

Shadow's POV

"Hey...Mephiles"

"Hm?"

I sit on my bed and stare at my brother who is laying on his own bed while reading a book.

"Can you...like...help me with something?" I asked.

"That's rare, you don't usually ask me to help you since you're good with every thing you do" He said in surprise.

"Well...I'm not very good at this one" I chuckle nervously as he sit up.

"So what is it?" He asked.

"How do you...erm..." I stutter "how can I set up...like...a c-confession...to someone"

He blink twice and scoffed "don't make it a secret, it's Sonic"

"Fine you're right, I want to confess my feelings to Sonic" I sighed "we have our final exam next month...if I don't confess now then it's gonna be too late for me to do it"

"All you need to confess to someone is your own confidence and bravery" he said as he put his book down "these two are very important since you're going to open up your true feelings to someone"

"Currently, those things are slowly vanishing away from me the more I think about this confession" I said truthfully and he facepalm.

"I mean I kinda know how that felt but if you don't keep it together you're never going to succeed" he stand up and decide to sit next to me.

"I know! That's why I need your help!" I plead and he sigh.

"Why don't you just...set up a good mood between you and Sonic before you confess to him?" he said and I tilt my head in confusion.

"How do you do that?"

"Go out with him, it's still the weekend tomorrow so you can definitely ask him out"

"Hey that sounds kinda like a good idea" I smiled.

"What do you mean by kinda?" He asked.

"There might be a slight chance of me being awkward since all I'm gonna be thinking about in this hang out is my confession" I said and he facepalm again.

"Don't be too bothered by it...if you two are having a good time then you'll have no problem with confessing, trust me" he pat my back.

I'm still really nervous with this. I know Mephiles went through this before and he probably knows best about this thing, that's why I trust him.

"Okay...I guess I should start asking him now if he could hang out tomorrow" I said and he nodded.

I took my phone from the desk and start texting Sonic.

Sonic's POV

I can't believe this! What a huge coincidence that Shadow is texting me to go hang out with him tomorrow! Silver and I just discussed the perfect plan for a confession and I was just about to ask him to hang out tomorrow!

"Silver I'm so nervous!" I blush as I look at the text I receive from Shadow.

"Accept it!" He said.

I replied to Shadow that I agree to go out with him, we are planning to go to the arcade tomorrow.

"Oh my gosh my heart can't stop beating right now! I'm scared if I mess this up!" I put my phone down and cover my face from embarrassment.

"You can do it, Sonic! My mind power is telling me that your confession will be a success!"

"Silver you're the best fortune teller ever!" I smiled and hold his hands.

"I can only do this once so you're very lucky!"

I'm hoping for the best tomorrow. I just want to be with Shadow for as along as I live!
