*** CATO'S POV ***
I am so excited because today is cloves birthday! I got her the perfect gift! Since she is my girlfriend and I love her, I decided to throw her a surprise birthday party, she doesn't really like for people to celibrate it, but if it's just me, my mom, her mom, and her I'm sure she won't mind. I just can't wait until she sees her gift!
*** CLOVE'S POV ***
Tomorrow i my birthday, but I don't really care. Cato seems to though, he goes on and on about how he got me the perfect gift. I think it's really sweet of him to do that, I just hope that it didnt cost to much. Anyway I have a feeling he is up to something but I dont know what. It probably something to do with my gift. He is so sweet. I love him. I go to my backyard with 10 knives, and start throwing them at a tree. The Reaping is coming up, I dont want to get picked but if I do I want to be prepared. I just hope if I do get picked Cato won't volunteer. He wouldn't do it for fame, he would do it to protect me and to make sure I win. If I win then that means he has to die and I couldn't let that happen. The Reaping is the day after my birthday, so on the night of my birthday I will have to tell him not to volunteer and that I could win by myself, and come home. To him.
*** CATO'S POV ***
I am taking Clove for a walk in the park while my mom and her mom get ready for the party. I reach Clove's door and knock. As I'm trying to fix my tie she comes out. She fixes my tie for me and stands back to see if it looks good. When I took a good look at her my mouth drops, "WOW, Clove you look gorgeous. She is wearing a short red dress. It's skinny at her chest then it poofs out, she is wearing read heels, her hair is done nice and pretty, and she has very little make up on. As we walk threw the park I can't keep my eyes of of her. She is stunning! I decide to give her her gift now. We go over to a bench and i give Clove a box. When she opens it her eyes light up.
***CLOVE'S POV***
Cato hands me a box. When I open it my jaw drops. Inside was a knife and on it it says 'Now and Forever'. I love it. Its not to light and not to heavy. To thank him I jump on his lap and give him a kiss. He kisses me back and it lasted a long time. When we break apart we start to walk back to my house. When we open the door our moms yell surprise. I was actually happy Cato did this for me. Oh my God, I love him so much. We each have a piece of cake that Cato's mom made, it's delicious, she was always a good cook. When Cato and his mom leave we clean the place up. They insisted they help clean up but my mom told them that it's ok and that we can clean it up. When we finish cleaning I am tired. I jump in the shower and wash my hair. I put on my PJ's and go to bed. I wake up because someone is throwing rocks at my window. I get out of bed and go see who it is. Its Cato, I go down stairs and let him in. We talk in my bedroom for awhile. Then we start to make out and he picks me up and puts me on my bed. He climbs on top of me and takes his shirt off and I take off, then things get a little wild. When I wake up It's 5:00 am, so I wake up Cato. I tell him how I don't want him to volunteer if I get picked. He doesn't agree at first, but I told him about how I couldn't live with out him. When he heard that he finally agreed.
