* One month later *

Tony POV

"Why are you still investigating this case, Can't you just accept the fact that she is dead " I turned to see kelvin, staring at the pictures on the table.

"What are you doing in my house," I asked with a frown, knowing my passcode doesn't give him the right to enter my house uninvited,  going towards the kitchen to grab a snack, I took out some potato chips and two can of soda,

    I offered one to kelvin and opened the other, I took a big sip, and gulp setting it down on the table, "do you believe that she is still alive somewhere " he asked.

"I don't know " I answered ignoring him, I focused on my computer screen, how can I explain this to him, I couldn't even explain it to myself, I haven't been myself lately since I heard about her death.

    "Then why are you doing all these if you don't even believe that she is alive " he pushed for answers.

"I don't know man, I don't just believe she is dead, I feel like there is something fishy about this whole thing " I honestly replied wanting him to get off my back with all these questions. I walked out of the living room heading towards my study

"So what if you finish your investigation and still come to this conclusion, what will you do then " I heard him say, can't he just fucking get the fact that I don't want to talk about it, "Tony fucking answer me what will you do then"

"I will suck it up like a man and move on knowing quite well that I did something about it," I yelled in his face.

"I don't fucking care if she is alive or not, I know something happened to her and am going to find out what it was" I added softly

"We all saw her car, and even attended her funeral" he added trying to persuade me

"Did you see her corpse, because I didn't see it as well, and the way the funeral was rushed, even the extra security at the event, they didn't even let us get close to the coffin, or the fact that it was two days after her accident" I explained,

"I see you already got your mind made up and there is nothing I can do to persuade you" I nodded in confirmation.

"Fine, but I don't want lily to know anything about it, she hadn't been herself lately, she cries all day long, am out of ideas on what to do to make her feel better, so I don't want you to give her false hope with your investigation" he concluded nodding my head in understanding, we both went in my study.

"So what have you gotten so far, "I was about to show him my clue  on my computer when he got a glimpse of my special file

" you investigated her fiance," he asked In surprise giving me the look,

"What, I don't trust him, okay stop looking at me like that " I turned back to the computer ignoring his intense stares.

"What, don't act like a saint, you make me investigate anyone that comes close to Lily, so we are both freaks," I said when I couldn't ignore it any longer.

"My case is different," he defended

"How so?"

"Cause she is my wife " he declared

"Nope that doesn't change anything, you are still a freak deal with it " I chuckled at his expression. He grumbles changing the topic

" so what do you have on him "

"He is a serious drug addict, in serious debt, he borrowed money from the most dreadful gang and couldn't pay back so they are after him"

   Tiana POV

"Hello dear did you miss me ", I ignored the witch, not having any energy to entertain her, I don't even know how long I have been stuck here or what day is it, to me it felt like two fucking years already.

    And the food service is terrible, I think prison food is better, not that I have ever been to prison, I hate it here, at the list you can move around in prison, I smell like death, my hair must have turned black from all the shock it was made to endure. I have signed all my shares over to her, but she refuses to let me go.

   " Are you giving me the silent treatment, have got Good news and bad news for you, which would you like to hear first?" she asked, I stared at her without uttering a word, she brought out the remote again.

"Good news " I replied not having any power to endure another electric shock. She smirked liking the fact that she has frightened me to submission.

"Good choice, I have a surprise visitor for you, I know you must be bored out of your mind and in need of a little bit of entertainment "  I know she is trying to mess with my mind. There is no good news in her vocabulary,

"Come in " she yelled, I looked up to see the person that walked in and my eyes widen in recognition.

  "Franco what the hell are you doing here " I yelled, not knowing where the hell my strength was coming from.

"Franco here helped me in kidnapping you, tell her everything" she replied tugging Franco to continue, he held his face down in shame.

"Tell me Franco what the hell is she talking about?" I asked in anger with tears streaming down my face.

"Am sorry T, I didn't mean for all this to happen, I didn't have any choice, please forgive me?" he said staring at me, I could see that guilt in his eyes but no remorse. That's the only stupid explanation that he could give me,

"Your Franco here, is a drug addict, he embezzled a lot of money from your father company to support his habit, your father found out about it, he came to me for help, I did help him for a prize, to become my pulpit, I told him about my plans to become the MD of the company, he didn't appreciate it though, claiming he loves you blah blah blah, he later agrees to do it when he couldn't pay back his debt, " she explained enjoying every bit of how hurt and broken I look.

  "Am sorry Tiana, please forgive me " is he even for real, am in trouble because of him, and he asked me to forgive him, if not that I am restricted, I would have gone over and shown him how forgiving I can be

"He contaminates your drink to help me fake your death, isn't that wonderful," she asked.

"Did you ever love me?" I asked the question in my heart, why is life so cruel I can believe anyone betrayal, but not Franco and all he has to say is sorry.

  "I love you Tiana" he responded, I doubt if he knew the meaning of love.

"But he doesn't love you enough to save your ass, so he saved his ass instead, now am getting bored of the two of you, why is love so complicated? " I rolled my eyes at her question. She asked him to leave which he did, I was really happy that he was out of the room, I couldn't stand the mere sight of him.

 

   I tried digesting every bit of shocking news, I heard today, drug addict, stole money from my father, betrayed me. I didn't notice anything, the signs were always there, I trusted him too hard to doubt him, I can't believe I was so stupid.

  "Don't beat yourself too much, are you ready to hear the bad news " I shake my head against it, if what just happened was the good news then I don't want to hear the bad news.

"Am telling you anyway, your father is dead bitch,"
and I felt my already broken heartbreak into tiny pieces.
