We were happy I was happy
Izuku Midoriya loved heros. In fact, he wanted to be one! It was his main goal. He dreamed of having a quirk just as cool as the number one hero himself.
On the day he went to the doctor for his quirk test, he was full of happiness and energy. He nearly forgot to put his shoes on. He had even taken his Allmight figurine with him.
He was buzzing in his seat. What kind of quirk would he get? How strong would it be? He was so astatic! Nothing could ruin this day for him!
Then the doctor spoke.
"I'm afraid your son is quirkless."
And just like that his day was shattered. Shattered as the glass a bullet goes through.
He still had a shimmer of hope though. That day he turned to his mother, in the midst of tears, and whimpered.
"I- I can stil-l b-be a her-ro w-witho-out a quirk-k ri-ight mom?"
He just needed her to say she believed in him. He just wanted someone to tell him it was ok. To give him hope. To save him.
"I'm so sorry Izuku. I wish things were different."
What she said was not what he wanted- no, needed to hear.
When he got to school, and everyone found out, that's when the bullying started. Sure he had been teased, but that's not the same as being burned and beat up by his so called friends.
"You'll never be a hero without a quirk deku."
As the years went by it only got worse. Yet, he still believe, if only a little, he would prove them wrong!
