As Nagito walked away, I internally cringed at what an awkward situation I was in. Gundham was holding me as if I were a wounded puppy that needed protecting, as I was clutched firmly into his chest.

Desperate to break the tension, I began to speak.

'Hey Gundham, sticking up for your henchmen now eh?' I winked, and he immediately pulled his face into his scarf and let me go. I giggled and stepped back, expecting a cocky reply from the lord of ice. Instead, he spun on his heel and ran away.

Stumped, I was momentarily frozen to the spot before Hajime walked to me and I focused my attention on him.
'Hey Y/N! Everyone is meeting in the food court, let's go!'
Without waiting for a response from me, he grabbed my hand and began dragging me to the food hall, much to my absolute dismay.

Ignoring my boisterous complaints, Hajime opened the door to the food court and walked inside, gripping my hand as if his life depended on it. I sighed and scanned the room. Everyone was in there, including Gundham. Akane, Nekomaru, Hiyoko, Mikan and Mahiru were eating at one table, Nagito, Chiaki, Fuyuhiko, Pekoyama and a spare seat for Hajime were at another, and Gundham, Souda and Sonia were at the last table. Hajime quickly released my hand as Byakuya walked over and pulled Hajime away from me.

I felt a pang of sadness from this, the proposal that people don't want to be around me, but I shrugged it off happily and went to the balcony and began to read. I had a couple waffles which I had grabbed as I walked past and immersed myself in my book.

About 20 minutes later, the book was snatched rudely from my hands by Hiyoko.

'Hey pigshit listen to Byakuya! For some reason he has something important to say!'

I don't know why but this pissed me off mightily. I grabbed the top of her kimono, and to her display, pulled her roughly towards me. Angrily, I whispered into her ear.

'Watch who you use that attitude with, you could end up getting killed couldn't you? Even children get hurt in the real world, you know?' After I had said this, I pushed her away roughly and she squealed, dropped my book and ran away. Just as I was about to pick it up, Mahiru appeared and stepped on it.

'Hey! What did you say to her?!'

I stood up, shoved her away, picked up my book and hit her with it before sitting down to continue reading. Mahiru sighed and followed Hiyoko to the back of the room as Byakuya began to speak.

I put down my book and began to listen.

'We need to achieve a solidarity, which is something not as easygoing and optimistic as a 'bond'. What we need right now is a disciplined leadership provided by an unmistakable leader!'

A murmur spread through the room, and I perked up in interest.

'Rejoyce. I shall accept the position.'

I groaned and lay back, as confused words circled the room.

'Now then, I'll wrap up this introduction and let's move on to the main questions'

Main questions?

'Wait just a second!' Mahiru piped up, much to everyone's obvious surprise.'Wh..what did you just say..? I just don't care how you excuse it, you're being too forceful!'

How can a leader be too forceful, it's his job..?
Byakuya seemed to think the same as me.

'Deciding to be a leader all on your own..and why does it have to be you anyway?' She carried on. Her voice annoys me.

'Who is more fit to lead than me?'

Literally anybody else could run further than you, and most likely lead better than you.

'I am the Ultimate Affluent Progeny of the Togami family, destined to stand above all others'

Angry voices circled the room.

However, after everyone agreeing that Byakuya would be the most fit to lead in the current situation, he pledged his alliance and began to speak yet again.

'Now then, let's move on to the topic at hand, I have something to show you all.'

A concerned murmur circled and I felt confused.

Byakuya brought us to the middle of Jabberwock Island and showed us this big, obvious bomb. I thought everyone realised it was a bomb, but everyone was more stupid than they previously let on.

Well, except for Souda.

'A..A BOOOOMB?!?!?' He screeched.
'If they wanted to blow up the island, they would have done it by now. No need for the countdown.' Byakua reasoned.

It's obviously a bomb, so I tuned out of the conversation.

Suddenly out of the blue, he began taking about the 'bond' he mentioned earlier.

'I vote we should have a gathering. Better yet, a party. We need to lighten the mood and create more trust for each other.'

Annoyingly, everyone agreed and Nagito began to clean the venue. I sighed and just left. I didn't want to go and didn't want to be dragged into it, however he claimed that it was 'mandatory'.

Quickly, the night came round and I quickly pulled on something presentable and my favourite jade pin and ran to the venue. Outside stood Chiaki and Usami, who told me that they were on lookout for Monokuma. As I walked in, Byakuya patted me down and took my pin off me as it could be 'a potential weapon'. I mean it would be a pretty goddam obvious weapon but okay, I walked into the big hall Nagito cleaned and marvelled on how much it had changed. I noticed Nagito in the corner and walked over and praised his work.

'Oh y/n, you shouldn't praise trash like me!'

'Nonsense, you aren't trash! And seriously, this place looks amazing! How did you do it?'

He smiled and me and said 'just a little bit of luck' and waltzed away. I decided to scan the room, and noticed everyone was there except Hajime, Byakuya, Peko, Fuyuhiko and Nekomaru. I saw Nekomaru standing outside the toilets earlier, Fuyuhiko refused to come, Teruteru is obviously in the kitchen and Byakuya pulled Hajime from the room, so it was probably important and none of my business.

I walked over to Ibuki and began to make polite conversation just as the air conditioner beeped.
'hm. I wonder why it did that.' I thought aloud.
Gundham quickly replied' I do not know' and stepped towards it.

Just then, the lights turned out. Frenzied voices echoed around the room, and I instinctively walked towards Gundham's general direction. Without meaning to, I fell onto someone just as the lights turned on.

Embarrassingly, it was Gundham. My hands were my his head and knees between his legs, as if I was pinning him against the floor. Embarrassed, I stood up and offered him my hand, which he silently took before wrapping his face up with his scarf.

Suddenly, I smelt something..off. So did Akane.

'Hey..what's that funky smell..?'

We all slowly walked towards the source of the odor, under a table, and slowly pulled away the tablecloth.

Byakuya Togami. Ultimate Affluent Progeny, was lying face first in a pool of his own blood, next to a stained knife.

Togami was dead, and our first victim of the killing game had been discovered.
