"WE SEARCHED EVERY INCH of this damn house, and we didn't even find the murder weapon. This is hopeless!" Adam retorted, throwing a pillow back its place, since Mal specifically told them to leave everything the way it was. Mal turned to her brother to glare at him, but was met by a few pairs of eyes staring up at her, including Malia and Ben.

"He's right, you guys. We were searching for, like, thirty minutes and we didn't find everything."

"Yeah, maybe we should just go home and let the police do their job. We already invaded a crime scene anyway."

Mal sighed, walking away from the bookshelves and sitting down on a small chair by the dining table.

"Why did this happen...?" she whispered, messaging her forehead. Bryce sat down across from her and reached for her hand, gently squeezing it in reassurance.

Beatrice paused for a moment as if she had just remembered something.

"The security cameras! Maybe we can check out what happened from there." she pointed with her finger into nothing in particular to prove her point. Adam gave her baffled look, furrowing his eyebrows.

"What do you mean?"

"What do I mean what? Why don't we just the check the security cameras instead of turning the house upside down?"

Adam stopped in his tracks, still confused.

Mal got up from her seat, then walked towards her brother, slightly fed up. "Hello? Security cameras, like the ones we have at home?"

He shook his head. "No, there weren't any security cameras when we got here."

Bryce followed Mal away from his seat, standing next to her while staring at Adam.

"What?"

"What is wrong with you all, I checked and there weren't any security cameras when we got here? Shouldn't there be like, one facing the door, from inside and outside?"

They all turned their heads to look at the direction facing the door, which happened to be at the top of the stairs. Sure enough, there were no cameras.

Mal huffed in annoyance and confusion, then stormed outside, meeting the sight of greenery. She turned around to face the door and looked up, and to her dismay and shock, only saw the view of white cement and LED lights, which were supposed to lighten up the entrance at night.

"No, that can't be right..." she turned to look at all directions, then took a few steps forward to take a better look at the exterior.

There were no cameras, at all.

"Guys! He's right! There are no cameras any where...!"

The group slowly took turns to get out of the house, taking a look around to confirm Mal's words.

"So whoever did this might've gotten rid of the cameras..." the girl muttered quietly, rubbing her chin.

"Who the hell did this?!" Ben exclaimed, stretching out his arms in confusion. Malia and Arjun let out their phones and took pictures of the house, because they had already took pictures of the dead bodies.

"Guys, that's it! We need to go."

The group hurried towards the car, leaving the now abandoned mansion behind. As soon as they all got in and closed the doors, Mal furrowed her eyebrows as a thought crossed her mind.

"Guys? Where is Jake anyway?"
