OMG IM SO SORRY I finished this chapter ages ago but I forgot to publish it!!!!! Anyway this chap is about sesshys view of what happened, next will be Kags waking up.
Thank you for all of your comments and votes! I hope you like my story so far! Feel free to point out mistakes: grammatical, spelling, or otherwise. If you would like to give me some help with ideas for chapters, please do! Btw, if anyone's confused, Kagome is around 18, Sango is 20, Miroku is 20, Rin is 6 1/2, Inuyasha is about 200 (18 in Human terms) Sesshomaru is 333 ( 21 in Human terms). Shippo is 60 yrs old ( 8 in human). Anyway....

Sesshomaru pov
He couldn't understand why he did it. Maybe it was the incessant complaining from his beast, or maybe he just wanted to exterminate the demon on his lands. Or maybe, it was the shred of compassion tucked away in the recesses of his otherwise frigid heart.

Hn, not likely, Sesshomaru thought to himself.

-Flashback-
Sesshomaru was on his weekly patrol of his lands, when he sensed a disturbance: a flash of youki. Who Dares to cause trouble in my lands? He leapt into the trees, heading in its direction. Then he smelt it, or rather, her. The human Miko that travelled with his half brother. What was she doing there? Sesshomaru refused to admit it to himself, but she fascinated him in a way that few others had; her speech, clothing, and even her outspoken attitude were quite unusual for a human woman. Not to mention the fact that she smelled clean. Most humans were unaware of their stench, and didn't bother to bathe very often. But a demon could always tell. She even appeared to have some sort of education. Once, he had seen a book fall out of that ridiculous yellow bag of hers.

There were reasons Sesshomaru fought Inuyasha, but they didn't all revolve around on the Tetsusaiga. Well, maybe at first. There were many things the hanyou didn't know. Occasionally, his beast wanted a glimpse of her. She was an enigma that he couldn't wait to unravel. Why? Sesshomaru hated a lot of things. But most of all, Sesshomaru hated not knowing something. He was skilled in most virtues, and excelled as the Lord of the Western Lands, and his questions about the miko bothered him. Even though he would never admit that he wanted to know about a human woman.

When he smelt her distinct scent within his lands, his senses were immediately on high alert, especially because she was alone with a demon that wasn't Inuyasha.

Save her. I shall take over if you do not, his beast urged.
This Sesshomaru is tired of your nonsense. Cease your meaningless rambling. She is nothing to me, and I have no reason to rescue a human. Sesshomaru's rational side countered.
Well THIS Sesshomaru is interested. When you realize your foolishness and agree that I was right all along, I will be here to say I told you so. But for now, I am taking over. I refuse to let her die in this ridiculous manner. Besides, the demon is encroaching upon our territories, is he not? We must kill him! And with that, his beast hammered at the locks, chains and restraints in Sesshomaru's mind.

If someone was looking, they would have seen beautiful swirling pools of red mixing and fighting with molten gold. His beast took and started sprinting toward Kagome as fast as he could, which was pretty damn fast. He only gave up control when they neared her, and only because he had extracted Sesshomaru's promise that he would save her in this one instance. When they witnessed what was happening, even Sesshomaru's rational side felt a surge of irritation, which puzzled him. The hawk demon had removed his clothing and was advancing closer to the young priestess's body.

Without missing a beat, Sesshomaru swiftly lopped the vile hawk demons head off. His beast was satisfied. The girl's blood loss and torn clothes did not pass his notice. Just after the hawk demon collapsed to the ground, Sesshomaru saw Kagome on the verge of falling to the ground.

He made a decision. Why am I really doing this?

He took off mokomoko (his white fur boa), and it automatically curled around her. What a bother. There is no reason for me to go to such lengths for one measly woman. But my other half  won't let me hear the end of it if I don't. He's so demanding when he fixates on something. He picked her up with his right hand, mokomoko assisting him, and they were off to the western palace.
