It was a very special day for Yeosang. He was turning 22 today and it was his first birthday with all the members. He woke up excited to see what his brothers had prepared for him knowing that they tend to go all out for each other's birthdays. He layed in bed peacefully happy that they had no schedules on his special day. He was at peace and feeling relaxed until suddenly his door flew open revealing the maknae.
He ran up to Yeosang and shook him aggressively telling him to get up. Yeosang was confused, why was Jongho screaming at him like this?
"Hurry hyung! We have a last-minute schedule, get ready!" he informed before exiting the room leaving Yeosang super confused. He rubbed his eyes and forced himself up to get dressed.
Ten minutes later he dragged himself down the stairs to meet his members who looked frantic.
"Finally! come on sangie we have practice!" Wooyoung squealed grabbing Yeosang's hand roughly and dragging him to the van.
Yeosang was a little hurt that none of them had even said happy birthday to him, but he convinced himself that they had something planned for him later on. He played along and focused on practice waiting for them to come out with a cake or a surprise of some sort but as they were several hours into practice, nothing even close to that happened.
"Come on Yeosang! No slacking today, this is important for the comeback." Seonghwa scolded firmly as he directed the younger through the dance.
Yeosang bowed apologetically and continued to dance starting to lose hope that they had done anything for his birthday.
Eventually they stopped practice to eat lunch. All of them sat in a circle on the ground eating their packed meals in mostly silence.
Yeosang felt giddy inside, he saw this as a perfect opportunity to surprise him.
"I'll be right back." San said before getting up and disappearing into the hall.
This had to be it, San would come back with a cake, why else would he leave suddenly like that? Yeosang told himself as he happily munched his food.
A few minutes later the door opened and Yeosang looked up excitedly, but his face dropped when all he saw was San. He returned to the circle sitting next to Wooyoung and continuing to eat and chat amongst the others.
Now Yeosang was confused. Did they really forget his birthday? They remembered San's birthday, and Yunho's so why was his forgotten?
He looked down not really feeling hungry anymore.
"Sangie? Are you alright?" Hongjoong asked suddenly noticing the younger's glum expression.
"Oh, I'm fine hyung, just tired." Yeosang lied.
"Okay then, don't worry practice is almost over and then we can go home and celebrate." Hongjoong said with a smile.
"Celebrate?" Yeosang lit up.
"of course! We've all been working really hard to complete this comeback I think we deserve it." He said earning cheers from the others.
Yeosang's heart sank to his stomach.
"Is...is that all we're celebrating hyung?" Yeosang asked cautiously.
"Um, yeah? Why is there anything else going on sangie?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
