Idol life is stressful, of course having so many schedules and responsibilities can become a lot to handle and unfortunately sometimes being under that pressure can make you forget about the most important things, your friends.
Wooyoung had been really feeling the effects of a busy comeback and was a little more tired and cranky than usual. Wooyoung is close with all his members, he loves them all like family but he has two people who he tends to gravitate towards.
Yeosang had been his best friend for five years and counting, training together, debuting together, living their idol life dreams together, wooyoung has shared things with yeosang that he hasn't ever shared with anyone else.
You'd think with a bond like that wooyoung would be with yeosang all the time. Though their love for each other and still just as strong, wooyoung differs from yeosang in one major way: he's very affectionate, particularly in the physical realm. He loves to cuddle and hug and hold hands with everyone he's close to.
Yeosang is very much the opposite. He dislikes physical affection much like Jongho. He doesn't like cuddling and he enjoys having his personal space. Now that doesn't mean he doesn't love and appreciate wooyoung just as much as he does, but it can be frustrating for wooyoung when his attempts at affection are rejected.
That's where san comes in.
San loves affection, especially with wooyoung. It's no secret that "woosan" have been deemed soulmates by practically everyone, and wooyoung was able to satisfy his need for physical touch by spending time with san.
Being given that kind of attention, wooyoung quickly began to hang around san far more often than he did with yeosang.
Yeosang didn't mind wooyoung and san's relationship, he was glad someone could give his best friend the attention he needed, though he started to notice that he saw wooyoung alt less once they became close to each other.
Wooyoung was always spending the night in san's bed, curled up in his side, arms and legs tangled together. During games and activities wooyoung always chose san as his teammate first, he always joined san's lives, he always took selfies with san.
Yeosang wasn't the type to be jealous, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't a little bit wounded by wooyoung's neglect.
Atiny were starting to notice it too, under most videos and in the chat column of most of their lives the comments always pointed out how close woosan were and how often wooyoung seemed to ignore yeosang.
Eventually yeosang decided that being invisible to wooyoung was just how it was going to be. He surely wasn't going to tell wooyoung to stop hanging out with san and he couldn't deny his best friend the opportunity to be showered with cuddles and physical affection knowing wooyoung longed for it. So yeosang shut his mouth an became a background character in wooyoung's life.
In their lives he stayed quiet, during games he stayed as distant from wooyoung as he could as to keep the awkwardness to a minimum. He didn't ask wooyoung to join his personal lives, he stopped asking him to watch movies in his room with him. He stopped trying to reach out because he knew he could never compare to what san was able to give to him.
He became quiet and distant silently watching his best friend giggle and smile and become even closer with choi san.
It had been this way for a while, and yeosang was content with it.
