TW:: nightmares, panic attacks
three in the morning. they wake up, shivering, their scream echoing off the walls, curling their body up as tight as they can. hands tangled in their hair, crying, can't tell if it's real but it feels so real and it just won't go away. they're scared. it's dark. they can't feel anyone- are they alone? they must be alone. that thought alone makes it so much colder.
but then something else is there. her voice, soft, calm, next to them.
"Vee."
the nickname that only she knows. she tells them that she's right there, and that she's going to take their hands. they're still shaking but they let her, she slips her fingers between theirs and pulls their hands out of their hair. and she's right there. she puts their hand over her chest, they can feel her breathing, she's there.
for them.
