Don't Want it to be Awkward

I saw Shawn pacing back and forth near the shoreline. I wrapped my arms around myself and I felt goosebumps grow on my legs. Even if it was summer it was still freezing at night especially when you’re by the beach. Shawn was in some sweatpants and a sweat shirt and he looked really warm.. lucky him. Compared to me in my tank top and shorts. “Are you cold? Geez you must be freezing”  Shawn said removing his sweatshirt and handing it to me. I gave him a warm smile “Thanks” I said pulling the sweatshirt over my head. I couldn’t help myself to inhale as much as I could while my head was in his sweatshirt still. Shawn, I have to admit smelled the best. I mean all the boys smelt great but Shawn just smelt so welcoming and warm and I don’t even know but he just smelt good, and it wasn’t even his cologne just his skin smelt good. Ok I know I sound creepy. I fully put on the sweatshirt and put the hood on “So what’s going on Shawn?” I asked. we started walking along the beach. “Well turns out  Megan didn’t only hook up with one person..” wow ok “Shawn I’m so sorry.. you know what you don’t need her.. Shawn you’re a great person and you’re drop dead gorgeous and you can have anyone you want and-” he cut me off laughing “I’m drop dead gorgeous?” I started laughing too. I punched his arm “Sorry I’m used to giving these type of pep talks to girls.. see NOW YOU INTERRUPTED ME NOW I NEED TO RESTART THIS PEP TALK!” he started laughing again. “My bad.. restart if you must..” he said gesturing his hands in mid air “thank you.. anyways. You don’t need her. You’re.. hot Shawn.. I’ll admit it you really are..”he started laughing again “You know how many girls would kill to be with thee Shawn Mendes? You can have anyone you want..” I said finally looking up at him “well not anyone..” he said looking away towards the water. “Yes you can Shawn” I said reassuring him “Well not you” he said finally looking at me.”Well.. I didn’t know I was an interest to you..” I said looking down at my feet feeling my cheeks flush. “YN you’re an interest to all of us.” I couldn’t help but smile. “Enough talking for tonight” he said grabbing my hand. he laid down in the sand and opened his arms suggesting for me to lay down too. “Oh what the hell?” I said laying down. I laid down in his arm and we just stared up at the stars. “You see that.. that looks like a penguin holding a pineapple” he said pointing “Hell no! that looks like Nemo reading a book” me and him both broke out in laughter. The rest of the night went like this, making objects in the stars. Until we both stopped and it was complete silence other than the soft ocean waves washing on shore. I woke up the next morning from the sunshine. I quickly sat up and saw Shawn still asleep. We fell asleep on the beach. As cute as this could be I realized I had ditched Nash. He’s probably pissed off at me. Well thats great. Finally when i thought we could have patched up the ‘relationship’ we had I managed to screw it up. But Shawn needed me last night, and Nash just wanted to have sex. So I think I made the right choice to help a friend.. that’s what friends are for.. I looked back at Shawn. I made the right choice right?
