The two girls held their father's arms and entered the palace with poise. People gawked at them as they walked over to the monarchs to greet them. Bowing before them, they greeted them a good evening and congratulated the king on his successful truce. The two young ladies took their leave with a smile and left the elder man to chat with his old friend. The king nodded back at them and descended from his throne, making his way to Kyung Hee with a genuine smile."I heard about your business flourishing, Kyung. I'm so glad to hear that," The king grinned. "You are doing better than me, Kim," Kyung Hee chuckled.
"I see you have two daughters now. How do you feel?" Kim asked with sparse importance. Kyung Hee sighed and replied, "Both of my daughters are a blessing, Kim. They are the only reason for my life."
"Indeed, they are. I can see that. Why don't we let loose a bit with some booze?" The former asked, lightening the atmosphere. "As you may your highness," The latter teased. Scoffing at his reply, the king ordered one of the servants to fetch him two glasses of wine.
Lily had dragged Yn to the corner of the ballroom with her. Her eyes desperately searched for a certain figure until Yn pulled her out of the search. "What is going on, Lily? Who are you searching for?" Yn asked in annoyance.
She had been acting weird since the day they got the invitation. Even at noon, when she asked her about it, Lily just behaved ignorantly. Having enough of the childish behaviour, Yn finally snapped at her.
"Promise me, you won't tell dad about this or make fun of me," Lily pouted as she stood facing her. "I won't, I promise. Now spill the tea," Yn responded. "Um... I like someone," Lily muttered. Her voice was barely audible. However, Yn heard her clear enough. Her eyes enlarged in amusement. But soon, Lily mimicked her friend's expression when she saw the figure walking towards the.
The figure cleared his throat to pull Lily out of her trance and gain the attention of the lady who stood back facing him. Turning around, Yn's eyes widened more. Fortunately, she was quick enough to compose herself and greet the crown prince before she could embarrass herself any further.
"Good evening, your highness," Both the females greeted and bowed before the prince. "Good evening to you too, ladies. Please, don't bow," Taehyung responded and asked, "I hope you both are enjoying the party." "We are. Thank you for inviting us here, your highness," Yn smiled and answered.
The two looked at each other with a smile. The forgotten girl stood in the background smirking at them. However, their silent exchange of messages got interrupted by a nobleman who took the prince somewhere in the crowd.
Realising what happened a few moments ago made Yn blushed in embarrassment. Turning back to Lily, she saw her looking at her coquettishly. Sighing she playfully slapped her arm and pulled her towards the table crowded with filled glasses of liquor.
Picking up two glass vessels, Lily pushed one towards Yn, who graciously clasped her fingers around the cold wine glass. After taking a small gulp of the aromatic, flavoured red liquid, Lily resumed her interrupted discussion.
"Okay, so, the person I like is...", Lily murmured. "Yeah..." Yn said stretching out the word, hinting the former to continue.
"You really want to get on my nerves, don't you?" Taehyung growled in annoyance. "Oh my, our younger brother is a grown-up man, now." Prince Namjoon teased, to which prince Jin chuckled added, "Courting a lady, huh? That too, Lee Yn? Not bad, little brother."
