Chapter 12: The Family Head

A few weeks later (Natsu's POV)

It was spring, the exciting first day of a new term. We were now officially second-year students.

Since I was on the student council last year, I was helping Yuki with orientation for the first-year students. Yuki and I were about to make our rounds around the school before class started when we heard a first-year had lost her student ID. The student she was asking wasn't being very helpful, so Yuki and I stepped in.

"Can you remember where you saw it last?" Yuki asked politely. "Let's go look. Can you tell me your name and class?"

The girl began to blush as soon as she laid her eyes on Yuki. Then suddenly, she began telling him everything about herself like a character introduction page in manga and comics; from her name and age to her blood type and star sign. I sweat-dropped as more girls started to swarm around him.

"Okay! Time out!" I called out as I clapped my hands and pushed them away from Yuki. "Girls, calm down! This isn't a dating game! Class is going to start anytime soon. We'll keep an eye out for your student ID as Yuki said."

The girls sulked away, giving me death glares. The glares only intensified when Yuki grabbed my wrist and pulled me with him as we started to walk away.

"Jealous are we?" He smirked.

I rolled my eyes playfully at him.

"Tch, you wish." I replied.

Yuki chuckled and let go of my hand.

After our little incident at the hot springs, the awkwardness between Yuki and I was now long gone. Neither of us brought up the subject in our conversations and I let it slide away. For now, it was the best option to keep the matter out of the way, especially for the sake of our friendship.

"Being in the student council is very hectic." I said, stretching my arms.

Yuki chuckled in response.

"You were in the student council committee last year, as the Vice President." Yuki said.

"Yep. And working under President Makoto Takei drove me insane!" I grumbled.

Yuki started to laugh.

"Don't laugh!" I pouted. "I'm serious! That dude's crazy!"

Yuki looked at me with a smile.

"So are you thinking of running for President this year?" he asked.

"Nah!" I shook my head. "To be honest, I think you are the better choice for the President position, not me."

Yuki looked at me in surprise.

"What? I'm just stating the fact." I said.

Then suddenly we both heard loud yelling. The voice sounded familiar. It was Kyo.

"Sounds like Kyo." I noted. "Let's go check it out."

We walked towards the direction from where the sound came from and saw Momiji and Haru with Tohru and Kyo. I noticed that Momiji was wearing the uniform for girls while Haru was wearing the uniform for boys along with his usual accessories like his necklace and his earrings.

"Is Momiji wearing what I think he is?" I asked.

"Sheesh, I can't believe you're wearing that, Momiji." Yuki stated as we got closer.

"Yuki! Natsu-chan!" Momiji greeted, waving at us.

Haru moved around the others and now stood in front of Yuki, holding his shirt. It was a really cute gesture.
