george's contact popped up on sapnap's phone not long after george responded. sapnap lifted the phone to his ear once the call connected.

"what's up?" george's asked.

"i think i like punz," sapnap blurted out before he could back out.

george was silent for a minute. "do you really? or are you just overthinking shit?"

"you tell me. how did you know when you started liking wilbur?"

"how about you tell me why you think you like punz before i tell you that?" george suggested. sapnap scoffed. "or are you just too embarrassed to tell me what happened?" sapnap replied, standing up and pacing his living room.

"no, idiot! i'm trying to help!"

"you're doing a shit job at that. whatever. well, i've sort of grown accustomed to him coming over every night after we do some work, and now that he has his own apartment, it's just... it feels incomplete, y'know? i miss the way he'd always fall asleep first no matter what, and usually he'd end up on my shoulder or bed or something—"

"sapnap, i don't think this is just a little crush anymore," george interrupted him. sapnap stopped pacing.

"are you... saying i'm in love with him?" sapnap asked, but it came out softer than he intended. he cleared his throat, and repeated the sentence.

"it's a theory, sap. but from what you've said already, you might be attached to him in a way you don't want to be." in the background, sapnap could hear george moving around.

sapnap didn't reply.

"sapnap?"

"do you think, if i'm not already in love with him, then i could be?"

george sighed. "sapnap—"

"give me an honest answer, george."

"do you want to be in love again, sapnap?"

the raven paused. did he? it seemed like a mistake the first time, and sapnap always seemed to repeat past mistakes.

"kind of?... but i can't just leave now. we're not even halfway done with the music," sapnap whispered, mostly to himself, but george heard.

"we can say it's only a small crush right now, okay? or just a regular crush. if your feelings just keep getting bigger, then we cross that bridge when we get to it."

"...okay," sapnap mumbled. "thanks george."

"did i help?"

sapnap scoffed. "yes, george. you actually helped me in a good way for once."

"yes!"

"goodbye, george."

"bye, sapnap!!"
