That night Al couldn’t sleep. But he couldn’t help but to feel homesick. Al got up at went to sit on the window sill and got a piece of parchment and a quill and wrote a letter to his parents.
Dear Mum & Dad,
Hogwarts so far has been incredible. I have been sorted into Gryffindor and I am having a blast! I have made many new and great friends. We had our first potions class today with Professor Vouliard. That went well (not) a group of girls think they are better then everyone and decided to bully a poor innocent girl from Gryffindor.
I share a dormitory with Lorcan, Tyson Trevont and Scorpius Malfoy. Scorpius and I are becoming really close. I could say his is one of my best friends. I’m not sure if you would be pleased (Dad) but Scorpius means well and has a good heart. James has been good. He has been showing me around and making sure that i settle in here at Hogwarts.
I miss you Mum and Dad and I look forward to seeing you guys in the winter holidays.

Albus folded up his piece of parchment very quietly and wrote on the front of the envelope To Mr & Mrs Potter. He then brought is barn owl “Aquila” to the window and let her out. Aquila was a white barn owl with a few yellow specks on her.
“Now Aquila, get this to mum and dad” Al whispered as he stroked he softly on the head.
“Off you go now” Al said as he let her go into the dark night sky.
He watched Aquila fly until he could not see her anymore. Al jumped into bed and fell asleep straight away.

The next day was Saturday. That meant studying. Even first years had a bit to do. They had an essay due in for potions and charms. Scorpius and Al headed for the library. They researched and researched until they were able to get a few words down onto a piece of parchment.
“Man we are first years not 7th years!” said Scorpius frustrated.
“Oh well I guess they prepare us for what’s to come” Al said.
“Excuse me, but do you mind if I join you? All the rest of the tables in the library are full?” the girl said.
“Sure of course” Al said.
“Wait you are Sophina? The girl who go teased during po-
Al cut off Scorpius by nudging him hard in the arm before he could finish the sentence.
“I’m sorry” al said to Sophina.
“My name is Albus Potter” he said.
“And I’m Scorpius. Scorpius Malfoy”
“Please to meet you both My full name is Sophina Ally Greyand” replied Sophina.
“I’m also in Gryffindor. I was expecting to be sorted into Ravenclaw but that’s ok”.
Sophina seemed to be shy, bubbly and polite at the same time. She had straight brown hair that reached her shoulders and dark blue eyes.
“Sorry, I ought to finish these essays. I might just go and grab a book and start researching” Sophina said.
“Yeah sure we will be here pretending to be enjoying this essay” said Scorpius as Sophina walked away.
“She’s nice I guess” al said
“She probably HATES me!” Scorpius said
After 1 hour of hard work. Scorpius and Al decided they would have a game of wizard chess.
And Sophina looked up.
“Why aren’t you guys finishing your work? She asked.
“I don’t know cause we felt like it!” said Scorpius.
“Na it’s just that we need a break” Al said kindly.
“After one paragraph you need a BREAK?” Sophina asked.
“Oh and Scorpius, you might not want to put your knight there Al is going to get you out!” Sophina said instructing Scorpius (in wizard chess).
She walked over onto the other side of the table and showed Scorpius what to do.
“And THAT’S how you win a game of wizard chess!” Sophina said confidently
Scorpius and Al looked at each other with their mouth nearly wide open.
“A girl, playing wizard chess? Its un heard of!” Scorpius said.
“You would be surprised!” said Sophina
“I ought to go and take a shower. It was a pleasure meeting you both!” she said.
“See ya!” they both said.
AL and Scorpius walked back to their dormitories.
“I’m sleepy!” said Scorpius as he was yawning.
“Ditto” Al replied
From that day on Sophina would actually talk to Scorpius and Albus. And they might even classify her as a good friend.
