(8) Aftermath

The next morning..

Detective Bass walked into school gym the survivors who made it inside all fell silent. 

"Attention everyone..first responders are on the way. But we ask that no one go on the football field until we have assessed it." Detective Bass said 

The Barnes and The Martins walked in behind them. 

"Mom.." Oliver said as he laid on the gym floor by some team mates. 

She ran over to him. "Baby where is your sister is she safe.." Catalina said 

"I don't know..I barely made it in here. But I can't feel my legs.. I was slammed against the wall before Jordan pulled me in." He said 

She walked over to Karson. "Where is Addalyn?" She said 

"James told me that she and him were in the field house." Karson said as the EMS came in. 

Karson and James walked over to Detective Langley. 

"My son texted me last night from the field house. Can we go look for him and Dr Martin's daughter." James said 

"We aren't allowing anyone on the field Dr Barnes.." Detective Langley said 

"There is a front entrance towards the parking lot." Karson said 

"Okay. I need two EMTs with us." Detective Langley said 

They went throught the front of the building. Water from all the rain and busted pipes filled the floors, lights flickering or hanging low. 

"James? Addelyn?" Karson said as they looked around. 

They found them asleep holding each other soaking wet. 

"In here." Karson said as Detective Langley motioned for the two EMTs Jensen and Sansa. 

"You two are okay now." James said as he hugged them both. 

They were still shaking as the EMTs wrapped blankets around them. When they arrived in the gym. The EMTs began to assess their cuts and was about to send them on. 

"Where's Dylan and Sasha?" Bucky said as Sam came over to them.

"I thought that they were with you all. Half the defense is missing." Sam said 

Addie Kate threw her oxygen mask as Bucky followed her. 

"Wait no one is allowed out there yet." James yelled after them.

James and Karson both ran after them. Bucky and Addie moved the bleachers and fencing off a group of friends. 

"Omg..no Hadley And Gabby.." Addie whispered

"Murphy...Bleeker...Cornwell..Oh my God." Bucky whispered as he saw two more team mates. 

The field looked like a warzone the opposing team lost players as well. They kept checking under debris for survivors. They got to another group of four people under the score board and goal post. 

"Nooo!!!" Addie screamed as she fell to her knees. 

She turned Dylan over his blue eyes staring right her. "Talk to me..Dylan! Say something!!" She screamed as she beat his chest. 

Bucky rolled over Sasha. "No baby please please wake up.." he said as he tapped her face. 

Laying next to them was Pietro and Natasha who was dating each other. 

Karson and James reached them. EMS and Detective Langley joined them as Bucky screamed "Dad do something!!" 

"Son I. Cant do anything Im sorry.." James said as he cried as he saw his nephew 

Karson tried to pull Addie away so they could take the bodies. 

"No! Don't Touch Me! DYLAN!! WAKE up!!" She screamed 

"Sasha please!" 

"Guys let them do they job" Winnie said as she tried to help pull them away 

"Let me go! No please don't take him!! Dylan!!" Addie screamed 

"Sasha baby!!" Bucky said as he broke free from his dad. 

James caught him again. Another set of EMS came out and sedated Bucky and Addie so they could get them to the hospital. 

When they arrived Karson found his wife. 

"Katie, how's Ollie?" He said 

"He's in surgery...Addie?" She said as when Bucky and Addie were brought in. 

"They had to be sedated.." Karson said 

"Nooo not my baby." They both heard they looked over to see James hugging his brother and sister in law.

"Oh no..Dylan?" Catlina said 

Karson shook his head yes "And Sasha. Hence why they had to be sedated. Half their defense is gone including Pietro and Natasha." He whispered as more bodies piled in. 

A few hours later while they were sitting in Addie's hospital room. Dr Lewis came in with Oliver. 

"He is paralyzed from the waist down." Dr Lewis said 

"Thanks Daniel." Karson said 

"Welcome.." Dr Lewis said as he left.
