Chapter 25

"I'm so tired Josh... Ugh all I want is sleep."
Josh kisses her forehead, she looked way too adorable with his oversized hoodie and pants.
"We are home all you need to do is wash up a little and crash on bed."
"I can't believe you're asking me to wash up at 2 am."
" We were outside period, God knows what germs are sitting on that skin of yours. OK come I'll help you." rose follows Josh half asleep . He help her wash her hands feet and face while all she does is lazily stands waiting for Josh to be done cleaning her and complete all his germ phobic stuff.
" There you go see how fresh you're feeling. "
" All I care for is sleep" she goes out towards bed while moving across furniture with half closed eyes. No wonder hits her leg with stool and cries an omph in response.
Josh quickly comes looking for the cause of the omph from Rose.
"Oh God you Rose!  show me, SIT DOWN first!"
He assesses her pinkie toe, the injury was not showing yet but Rose happen to scream a little when he moved the little toe circularly.
"It's fine Josh no worries lemme go sleep am I behaving like on drugs" Rose asks wearily.
"No! Stop worrying, I won't let anything happen to you. Wait wait don't sleep." he sighs following Rose who was now laying in bed.
"Get up Rose you need to remove those lenses."
"They're comfortable thank you." rose mumbles with her eyes close.
Josh's heart tugs at how much like a baby she was.
"No Rose I'm sorry you'd have to let me take that out or do it yourself you can't sleep in those no matter what comfort they provide. If not, you'd get corneal ulcers as your cornea takes oxygen -"
Rose got up in one fluid motion dragged the lenses out tears streaming due to her fast and manhandled actions. Josh looks at her in pity. She was tired but she had used  a lot of makeup for disguise. He himself needed to clean and remove his beard and lenses and wig, all he managed to achieve with a whining Rose was washed hands that's it. She handed him lens which by now might be scratched and useless seeing how she handled those. She wore it first time and proved that she knew nothing about lens or might have lost common sense to sleep.
He tied her hair while she was sitting.
"Go to sleep now" Josh said and instantly she layed herself to sleep. Josh smiled at how little she became when she was sleepy.
He quickly cleaned himself and scooted himself towards bed. Today with the amount of exhaustion and the little nonexistent sleep he got from yesterday, he knew his body had little vigor to act like it did yesterday. He felt like he could melt away in sleep. He pulled Rose closer and she became the little spoon. The amount of comfort he felt having her in arms was exquisite and he slipped into abyss while hugging her.

It was 6 and without any emergency calls from hospital, too early to wake up but Rose's alarm was ringing non stop making him want to throw his ears.
He manages to cancel it with great efforts, he has eyes wide open when he realizes Rose was missing from bed.
He sees her in hall, immersed head deep in her laptop.
"When did you wake up?"
" Since 5."
Rose answers not bothering to look up from her screen. It was Josh's laptop which she claimed hers since yesterday, the day hers was stolen. It was just like how it has always been. He never bothered returning Rose's stationary, used her books as his own, and definitely made her write all his assignments, he smiled at the memory soon laughing over how Rose took all his hoodies and her mom scolded her for buying so many clothes and that was what saved Josh's wardrobe from further decline.
"Do I need to buy you a laptop." Josh said trying to elicit response.
"I'll be buying one next month till then I'll be using yours."
Not as much as a look to spare, all she did was a shooing motion from her hand to stop Josh from talking.
He looked at the screen to see 4 tabs open Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and email..
She was going through all of Miller's accounts.
" Oh my God Rose - "
"Yes I hacked his mail."
"Turns out I need to hack his other mails, the info in this one is minimal. I made few websites and if it works we can get to roots immediately.."
"Care to elaborate."
Rose turns full face to Josh. "If anyone from his company gets interested and fills in any of their info like mail, name, number, etc .. I can do wonders with this info... All I need is data and then I can establish links  to their cards, hack systems, meh let's just hope this works out."
"Pray tell since when are you able to hack into systems?!"
"Since 4 yrs. I thought you knew?!"
"How would I?"
"What were you thinking when you opened your laptop and magically saw all your assignments processed about 2 yrs back..! It was me who hacked into my system."
"Jeez!" he started laughing. "You hacked my laptop to submit my assignments!"
"Yes!" Rose said with pride.
He hugged her, kissing her temple. "You're adorable Rose."
She smiles goofily before turning back at the laptop.
" I have to tell you something Josh." Rose said suddenly in all her seriousness.
"I'm ears."
"Your hospital has many departments-"
"Yes, 20 to be exact." Josh said with pride.
"Well one of them is gyne ward and there seems to be a little problem."
" In past two years, there were 13 missing babies and 5 cases where parents claimed that they were about to have girl and had boy. I got this info not from documents mind you, there were no records of such measure ever happening but it did! I have myself met with half of the people with complains. All of them were offered money, point to be noted. "
" Add further, 3 of them who underwent cesarean complained about non consented removal of kidney upon which they were informed of having benign cyst and hence they removed it. "
Rose went a little numb thinking about the possibility of Josh knowing.
" You Knew? "
" I read all the folder.. All documents, all research work that you tediously worked upon. "
" I did not know about cesarean cases. "
" When I saw your work which frankly is mind breaking to anyone attached to the hospital let alone me. I managed a bit to dig further.. I want to see what this is all about though I suspect our suspicion might be obvious. "
" Josh this can't be done by one, there definitely have to be people involved and I - "
" You suspect my father I know Rose. "
Rose felt cold lightening running her spine...
