Unfortunately, the two can't discuss the incident much: it's after their bedtimes, so they hastily part ways and head to their houses. Adrien slips through his window and into his bed, but can't seem to get much sleep anyways. His head spirals. Seaweed Guy, the visitor, Ladybug's condition all tornado around in his brain until he's given himself a headache. Eventually he falls asleep from pure exhaustion, but it's not long before he's woken up by his bodyguard.

"Time for school," he grunts. "Remember, you're getting picked up at 2. There's a special guest visiting your father tonight. Be on your best behavior."

And Adrien proceeds to lose himself in his speculations again. In his head, he imagines the mysterious visitor as some kind of sage, clutching a cane and hobbling around the mansion. Maybe he'd have a long grey beard, too. Yeah. The kind that floats down past his knees, nearly touching the ground. He'd say some magic incantation and his mom would open her eyes wide, look around, and then sit up, offering Adrien a hug. His father would gasp at first and then start crying, falling to his knees. It would be beautiful.

"Adrien?" His best friend, Nino, is waving a hand in his face. "What are you doing after school, man? Do you wanna go to the movies or something? We could hang at my place?"

"Sorry; any other day, I would, but..." Adrien trails off. He doesn't think he can tell Nino about the visitor. It feels like he should treat this as a secret, even though it isn't.

Nino's face falls. "You seem off today, dude. Actually, you've seemed pretty down this whole week. Is something wrong?"

Before Adrien can respond, their teacher, Miss Bustier, claps her hands, bringing everyone's attention to the front of the class. "I hope everyone's completed their math homework! Adrien, would you be willing to collect everyone's papers and bring them up?"

"Sure," he smiles, leaving Nino hanging.

Four long, long hours of school trickle by until, finally, lunch arrives. Of course Adrien sits next to Nino, but Alya and Marinette also join their table. He unpacks his salad with a sigh. It's a chore to sit next to Marinette. She has this unshakable stutter when she talks to him, along with Freudian slipping all over the place, but her speech impediment magically vanishes when she talks to anyone else. Weird, and frankly a bit disturbing. But Marinette's a friend, so Adrien puts up with her at arm's-length.

And now she's turned to talk to him. "Hey, Adrien, you're looking handsome-I MEAN you look happy today!" There's this really creepy, too-big smile on her face.

"Thanks," he responds, focusing on shoveling lettuce leaves into his mouth. This salad dressing tastes like ass.

"I was wondering if you'd want to go on a date- COME OVER TO MY HOUSE WITH ALYA LATER? HEHEHEH?"

Fortunately, Adrien has a prior engagement. He happily relays this to Marinette. "I can't, sorry. I'm actually getting picked up early from school today."

"What? Why?" she probes.

"...doctor's appointment."

"Aww, that sucks," Alya says. "We were gonna have ice cream. Are you sure you can't come over after your appointment or something?"

He shakes his head. "Ask Nino. He needs something to do, apparently."

"Sure, man, it's a date." Nino grins wide. He leans across the table to give Alya a peck on the lips. "Me and my honey bunny. And Marinette too."

The table collectively vomits. Even Marinette looks miffed. "I don't want to be your third wheel, guys!"

"Don't worry, dudette," Nino chuckles, "we'll save the sloppy makeout sesh for another time."
