It was a long trip from Ipswich to Brisbane. All four of us sat in silence. There was no talking nor coughing or sneezing. The only thing that was heard was the sound of the wooden wheels colliding with the cement bricks below our carriage.
I stared at Marcus sitting opposite to me as he stared out the window.
He was wearing the same thing as usual.
A black leather jacket, where he could hide all of his weapons and gizmo's underneath, black pants and boots.
It seemed like black was the new trend today.

Marcus caught my gaze and smiled. Somehow his smile told me that he was uneasy about this. Is it because we are up against a demon? (I mean if it is one)
Or is it because of the information that they wouldn't tell me?

"We're here." says Raven interrupting my thoughts as he steps out of the carriage, holding the door open for us. Stepping out of the carriage I was mesmerized by the mansion and its surroundings. The grass was bright lush green while the light of the sun was hammering down throughout the forest. The lake was shimmering as a few fishes jumped out of the water, it was like a little fairytail. And the Mansion was in the middle of it.
Standing at the door, I examined the patterns on the edges. It was gorgeous. The patterns of vines and flowers that was carved into the outline of the door was so detailed that I could've named every single plant carved on it.
Somehow I had a feeling that is was telling me something. All the plants carved in it had something in common. They were all poisonous plants. All except one.

"AHAH! Those flowers and vines are supposed to be some kind of spell to re-enforce the door making it impenetrable for intruders" laughs Jester as he does some kind of knocking code on the door. Slowly, the door opens with a row of maids bowing their head down on the left and a row of butlers bowing their heads on the right.

"Welcome home Master" they all greeted, synchronizing each other's voices. It felt like a short song.
"AND WELCOME TO MY HOME MY DEAR GUESTS!" Jester exclaims spinning towards us with his hands wide up in the air.
"Wow." gasped Marcus as he walks up next to me as we start walking down the hallway.
The ceiling was about fifty metres above our heads, the walls were white and seemed even whiter as the light of the sun came in through the massive windows that started from the ground and stopped all the way up to the ceiling. It was almost impossible to keep your eyes open.
For Marcus of course. I didn't have eyes but I could tell how bright it was if he was shielding his eyes.
"Are we going to live here?" I ask, whispering into his ear as he replies to me.
"I hope so"

Walking further down the hallway with Raven as our lead, we walked past the dining room where the table stretched from the end of the room to the other. And the rooms! They were like the size of a normal house with extra large beds and cupboards and a massive window leading to a balcony.
"What kind of room would you prefer?" Raven asks as I poke my head into one of the rooms.
"This one?" I reply as I walk around the room feeling the furniture. It was so soft and luxurious. No one would have any of this stuff back in Ipswich. Not even the nobles!
"Can I take the room opposite to her?" asks Marcus as he pokes his head into my new room. Raven gives him a nod and hands us our room keys.

I kicked off my boots and jumped onto the bed. It felt like heaven. But somehow the room seemed very familiar, like as if I've been in it before. But I'm sure I haven't. I raised my hand to my mask to take it off, but as I hear a click. My hand stopped and dropped down to my dress and lifted up the right part of it to get ahold of my pistol underneath as I spun around to see who it was.
Raven.
He stood next to the door staring at me.
"Is it possible to have some privacy?" I ask pulling onto my collar to show him that I was about to change, but I wasn't. I was only trying to get him out. But he doesn't move.
"Master ordered me to stay with you at all times." he replies. Ah. I find it cool how he used the tone of his voice and cold stare. I started to understand that Raven wasn't really a butler. He was more of a dog. Obeying his master's every order.
Getting up I headed towards the door but Raven asks something that gives me the shivers.
"Do you wear a mask all the time to hide the fact that you don't a face?"
Did he know I didn't have a face? I can't risk agreeing with him.
"Excuse me? I only wear a mask to protect my face." I snapped trying to hide the terrified tone behind my throat.

I was grateful that Marcus's room was right across mine as I burst into his room. Only to find him pinned to the bed with a maid on top of him.
"Help..." gasps Marcus as he manages to get a glimpse of me standing at the door with Raven behind me.
