chapter 19 - for jennie!

and now as she's playing and running for the ball she knows that the whole of the opponent team's not after the ball.

they're after her.

that doesn't even make sense, for all the years they've been opposing with each other they played for the ball like their lives depended on it but now suddenly they dont care? and theyre coming for her?!

jisoo thinks as yet another girl bumps harshly into her. shes pretty sure a bruise is now formed on her arm but she still manages to score, now that their goal is something else its easy to distract them.

the raven cant count how many times attempts to trip her have been made, how many bumps on her shoulder she had, despite everything she still continues. as she expected 'the wild wired's' score is zero and she has scored 2 but its getting more and more difficult and the opponent girls are getting more and more violent. player number 7 is getting closer to her way faster for any force to stop her and she watched before the said player lands a hard punch in her stomach.

instantly looking sideways she notices her girlfriend's eyes widening as she shoots up from her position on the bleachers. jisoo is hearing.. shes hearing the crowd booing and her coach and her teammates arguing with the referee whos refusing to give the attacker the red card, all while crouched down on all four.

and then it suddenly hits her and her squished-closed eyes shoot open and she thinks of ruby. its her!

suddenly with a burst of energy and rage she stands up and realizes that the whole stadium was waiting for her to do something, but she looks at just one in the audience. her girlfriend. who was by the fence, gripping it so tightly that her hands would've hurt. jisoo waved a small wave at her and smiled to assure that she's alright.

and the crowd roars again.

she cant let ruby think that she's messing with a weak one.

the jisoo that returns to the game again is a slightly different one. if she's getting bumped then she's bumping back ignoring all the pain in her body ultimately leading her to score after score. jennie doesnt think the crowd in the stadium stopped their hooting and cheering even for one second, yet she continues worrying about jisoo.

the same jisoo smirks slyly to no one in particular when she baskets once again and looks back to her girlfriend at the bleachers, but to her surprise.. she's met with a very different view.

she saw jennie sitting there timidly while two guys sat at either of her side. they sat laid back while staring at (you guessed it) jisoo with a face that she cant exactly read. jisoo's features immediately caught a frown and furrowed eyebrows as she walked back towards her teammates. shrugging the sight off when jennie smiled at her gave her a thumbs up.

jisoo turned into her stance again when the whistle blew.

getting back into the game jisoo follows the same tactic. she doesnt avoid their attacks completely but doesnt fully attack either. she moves herself as such that they hurt themselves like falling face first to the ground or like she would move at the last moment for them to punch at nothing and eventually.. falling.

but now as the couple minute of the game rolls and jisoo keeps playing, she gazes back to see her girlfriend but finds her position empty.

she freezes in her tracks and inevitably feels force hitting her back, making her fall on the ground with a thud.

she recovers quickly though. standing up not minding who pushed her from the back, she continues to look for her girlfriend but, again, is met with nothing. the two boys that sandwiched the brunette were gone too and that worried her more. before she could react, the stadium was filled with the final whistle signalling that the game was over and won by her team.
