The portal spits you out in Central Park, where the Avengers, your brothers and Scott are waiting around the scorched patch of grass. Your bones feel heavy and every muscle aches as you step onto the grass. All you want to do is sleep for a thousand years, but first, you have some people to see.
Scott seems to visibly relax as his eyes land on you.
"Miss me?" You ask with a cheeky smile.
Scott rolls his eyes playfully, taking your hands in his. "I thought something bad would happen."
You glance down at an exhausted-looking Cassie, who is talking to Loki. You watch fondly as your brother makes fireworks appear from his hands, and Cassie's face lights up as she watches in awe.
"How is Cassie?" You ask Scott, threading your fingers through his.
You cannot help but feel responsible for Freyr taking her.
"She's ok, a little shaken, but I think she enjoyed the 'adventure'." Scott laughs.
"Scott, she could have died because of me." Tears prick at your (E/C) eyes, and your voice breaks. "Freyr would have killed Cassie. He is bloodthirsty and brutal. He would not lose even a night's sleep at killing an innocent child."
Scott pulls you in close, wrapping his arms around you in a tight embrace. His suit feels coarse against your cheek, and his warm hands rub your back.
"(Y/N), we are ok now. We don't need to be worrying about things that haven't and will never happen. I trust you. I trust you to protect Cassie, and that is exactly what you did." He smiles softly. "Cassie and I both love you more than words can describe."
"Thank you." You whisper. "I love you both so much."
"Daddy?" Cassie runs up to Scott and tugs on his suit. "Can we go home now?"
Scott looks up from Cassie to you, his eyes sparkling.
"How would you like (Y/N) to move in with us?"
Cassie jumps in excitement. "Yes, please! She can share my room, and we can do each other's hair, and she can teach me how to do magic! My very own Elsa!"
"Take a breath, Peanut." Scott laughs.
Your grin stretches across your face. "Thank you, Cassie."The Avengers bid their goodbyes, and you thank each one for their help. You let Tony Stark and Captain Rogers know where you are in case they ever need your assistance. Then you turn to your brothers. Scott politely excuses himself and calls Cassie's mother to let her know everyone is ok.
"I guess we should bid our goodbyes." You smile sadly.
"(Y/N), please come home to Asgard. Mother misses you terribly, and I am sure father will forgive you once he knows the whole story." Thor begs. "Asgard will not be the same without you."
You smile at Thor, taking his hands in yours.
"I cannot go back there, Thor. Asgard is no longer my home. Father made that very clear when he sent Freyr to hunt me down. I cannot return, and that is ok." You take a deep breath, gazing at your brothers. "I have always sought adventure. For years I was kept hidden from the world, protected and tamed. And now ... now I am free. Scott set me free. I cannot go back to being trapped. My life has finally begun, and I am glad to be going on this adventure with Scott."
Thor attempts to open his mouth, but Loki quickly interjects.
"It seems that our little (Y/N) has decided her own fate." He muses, smiling softly. "Thor and I shall support you, no matter what. Even if you are remaining on Midgard with that pathetic man."
"Oh, he is not as pathetic as he seems." Your smile is infectious as you glance over to Scott and Cassie. "For the first time in my life, this feels like the right thing to do."
"Ok then, sister." Thor sighs. "I guess you are old enough to decide your own fate."
Your brother's envelope you in a tight hug as you attempt to keep the tears at bay.
"Promise you will write and come visit whenever you can." You plead.
"We will."
"And tell mother I love her and that I am safe here."
Loki nods. "You can tell her yourself when she comes and visits."
You laugh, wiping away the few tears that have fallen from your (E/C) eyes. Thor prepares to summon the Bifrost as Scott and Cassie come and stand next to you. With a bright flash of light, your brothers disappear back to Asgard, and the three of you are left alone in Central Park."Hey, (Y/N), you ready to go home?" Scott questions as he threads his hand with yours whilst carrying a sleeping Cassie in his other arm.
"As long as I am with you, I am home."
