I woke up by the sound of my alarm, ugh. This means Senior year started. I got up and I made a stop. His window was opened and he was changing his shirt. He turned his gaze to me and smiled.

"Good morning, princess." He waved at me.

"Hey, Nate." I waved back as I turned red.

We were still neighbours, he said he will stay one more year in his parents house, and then move out. He also happens to be my best friend growing up. A friend who happens to be my crush. Although I'm not sure if my parents would be happy I'm crushing on an older guy. I've never told anyone about my crush.

"I'll be at your house in a bit, I expect bacon." He grinned.

I chuckled, "Alright, see you in a bit."

I closed my curtains and went to do my daily routine. Nate is the sweetest person ever, the only thing I hate about him, is that he is a player. I hate when he tells me he has some hot date.

After my routine and getting changed, I made my way downstairs and headed to the kitchen. My parents were making breakfast. Luna, Nate and Mike were already at the table. Mom took cooking classes and well, she got stuck with everyone coming here for food. She cooks so amazing, just like my grandpa.

"So, you start working today?" I asked Nate, as mom passed me a plate of food.

"Yes, Luca needs someone he can trust and he got lucky I'm very into business." He replied.

Nate studied business and he was always asking dad about his work and he told him he wanted become an important CEO like him. Since dad doesn't care about business, he put Nate in charge while he worked on what he loves. Medicine.

"Where's my plate with bacon?" Belle, asked as she entered the kitchen.

"Your brother ate it." I chuckled.

"You what!"

"Sorry sis, I was very hungry." He grinned.

"Mom, dad, how important is Nate in your life?" She asked as she gave them a hug.

"Very." They answered in unison.

"Just like you are." Mike added. She smiled.

"Here baby sis." He passed her, her plate with food.

And this is a typical morning here. When Belle, turned 10 years old, they told her about her being adopted. She took it well and was grateful for giving her a home and a family. Nate loves his sister and will kill whoever messes with her.

"Alright family, I'm heading to the company." Nate told us.

"Good luck." I told him.

"Thanks, princess." He pinched my cheeks. "Good luck with Senior year.

"Call me when you arrive so I can instruct you to a few things." Dad told him.

"Will do." With that said, he left.

"Belle, andiamos." I said.

She sighed, "for the last time, I don't know Italian."

"Oops, I meant to say let's go." I said as I gave my parents a hug.

Belle hugged her parents and then we drove off to school. As we arrived, the cheerleader squad, greeted Belle. She is their captain. They're all nice, this isn't your typical cliche high-school were the cheerleaders are mean, there's a queen bee and the popular are assholes. Everyone is actually nice, for that I'm grateful.

As we walked, one her teammates asked, "Belle, is your brother into dating? If not then I'm up for a one time thing."

"He doesn't date, but he is into the one time thing. But he doesn't go for high school girls. Too much trouble." She answered her.

"Damn it." The other girls sighed.

We went to our first class and then after a few more lessons, we went to the cafeteria, but first, I made a stop and went to the bathroom. I heard someone making out, then they started talking, I know one voice.

"You have very soft lips." Belle said.

"You too." The other voice said. I went back to washing my hands and then the door opened up and it was Belle with a girl from the cheer team.

"See ya later." She said.

"Making out, really?"

"What, she is hot." Belle smirked.

I shook my head. "You do know she's bi?"

"Yes, but this is just for fun. I have yet to find someone who makes me feel butterflies, someone who I can be myself. Like you when you are with Nate, even though you two are just friends." She said.

"And friends we shall remain. Your brother doesn't see me that way." I sighed.

"Pff, he is oblivious. But I guess ever since Katie, he is having a hard time getting into something serious."

"I know, but I'm just going to let nature take its course."

"What if you confess your feelings to him?"

"I don't know, I don't want to risk our friendship." I said as we left the bathroom.

"Just think about it."

I nodded. We headed to the cafeteria and had lunch.

.........

I arrived home and went to the kitchen. There was a note on the fridge that my parents will be late.

"Well, at least there's food and cookies."

"Knock, knock." I turned to see, Nate. "You should really start locking up.

"I knew you were coming, so I left it open." I giggled.

"Right." He pinched my cheeks. "How was school?"

"Meh, it was your typical normal day, what about yours?" I asked as I grabbed a cookie and took a bite.

"It was good. I met a hot intern, we're hanging out later."

Yep, words that shatter my heart.

"Is she special?"

"She is sweet, who knows maybe she might be the one to heal my heart after Katie."

Yeah, keeps breaking and breaking. I don't want to cry.

"That's great, I'm glad you're willing to give love a try." I smiled.

"We'll see." He said as he grabbed a cookie, "see you later, princess."

As soon as the door closed, tears fell down my cheeks. I felt two arms wrapped around my shoulders.

"Hey, babygirl." I turned to see mom.

"Mom, I thought you were out?" I sobbed.

"I was, but I stopped by to get something and then I kinda overheard your conversation." She wiped my tears.

"Mom, I don't want to feel like this." I cried in her arms.

"One day you won't, give it time." She hugged me.

I hope so, cause this crush just got crushed and it hurts so much.
