1 day before the surgery

I kept ignoring Tom's calls.
What's the point anyway.
He can't just suddenly care now that he knows I'm dying.
He sure as hell didn't care when my robot exploded with me in it.

Why would he care when you tried to kill them?

For once the voice is right.
I don't deserve any ounce of kindness that they give me.
Tom not killing me is an act of mercy.
Especially after what I've done to him, and the others.

I decided to go on a walk around the neighborhood my parents lived in.
Might as well try and distract my mind while I'm here and enjoy the scenery.
I sighed to myself and put my converse on.

" I'm heading out for a bit, might stop by the store. Is there anything you guys want while I'm there? "
I asked them

" Uhh, yes actually. "
My Pa said
" Could you please pick up the items on this list? I meant to do it earlier but I'm too tired today. Couldn't sleep much last night "
He chuckled to himself.

" Sure thing. I should have enough for all of this. "

Matt looked up at me,
" Want me to come with? "

" Not this time. I shouldn't be out for long anyway. I'll be sure to text you guys on my way back "

The three men said goodbye and wished him to be safe on his trip.
Even though his parents live in a relatively nice part of town, it's better to be safe than sorry.

" Oh, before you go, "
His Dad tossed him a pistol.

" I don't think I'll need this, but thank you. "

" You never know "
He gruffed.

He's got a point.
I finally head out and started walking towards the store.
It's about 5 blocks away.
I watched the passing cars and the people walking their dogs.
Thinking about how many lives could have been lost if I had gotten away with my plan.

I'm glad Tom stopped me...

I slightly coughed.
Jeez, even just thinking about him makes this disease act up.

" I can't wait for that surgery "
I murmured to myself.

I slowly approach the store.
Looking at the list my Pa gave me, I begin to look around finding the objects.

Eggs
Milk
Butter
Bread
Bacon
Camel cigarettes
Vodka

Should be easy enough.
I begin to put a small medical mask over my face, that way if people think I'm sick they won't treat me like the disease itself.
Finding everything wasn't hard.
It was basically a walk in and walk out type of mission.
Although, when I spotted a blue hoodie in the corner of my good eye, I began to panic.

It couldn't be him.
He should be 45 minutes away right now at Edds house.
He can't be here.
He's not here.

I pulled my hood over my head just in case.
Not really concealing my hair horns that well.
I went to the alcohol isle to get the vodka.
It seemed the blue hooded person had been following me.
I felt my heart beat faster and louder in my chest.
I picked up a bottle of vodka and almost dropped it from the panic.
I quickly put it away in the basket I was carrying that way I wouldn't drop it again.

I finished up in the store.
Constantly looking behind my shoulders and my surroundings.
Rushing out of the store, I was pulled into an ally way when I passed it.

" Tord, stop ignoring me! "

Tom

He was holding me by the collar of my hoodie.
Towering over me.
I tried to pry myself from his grip, only causing him to stumble and for the both of us to fall.
I felt the wind get knocked out of me as my back hit the hard concrete, and again when the heavy Brit fell on me.

I tried to get out from under him, but he wasn't letting me.
He had me pinned.
Straddled above me.
His hands found their way back to the collar of the oh so famous red hoodie I wore.

" Get off of me! "
I yelled at him.
Frantically trying to get away from him.
But I was much weaker.
Ever since this stupid disease started killing me, I've become so weak.
Not being able to eat.
Not being able to sleep.
I've lost muscle ever since.
And it was showing.

" Stop struggling, I just want to talk to you! "
He yelled right back.

I pushed his face away with my good hand.
And the fucker bit my finger.

" Did you just fucking bite me?! "

" Just listen to what I have to say, Tord! "

The panic started to set in even further.
I suddenly couldn't see that well as black splotches covered my vision.
I couldn't breath and my body became hot.

Oh no..
Not now.
Please not now.

I started to cough.
Petals began to surface from my mouth, Tom got off of me.
I turned over and began to cough even more.
Blood and saliva covering the floor below my head.

" What the hell?? Tord, what's going on? "

Toms voice sounded distant.
Full on flowers started to fall as well.
Petals flying all around me.

I felt Toms hands on my back, pulling me closer to him.

And for a second, the flowers stopped.
My coughing started slowing, and I just focused on the warmth of the man behind me.
The man cradling me like I was glass, about to shatter at any given moment.

I put my head back, resting it on his shoulder.

" I told you. "
I coughed again.
" I'm dying. "
