"Babes you finally cut it! You look like me, twinsies!" Mary yelled slamming into Hanae's bedroom as she looked at Hanae's brand new shoulder-length hair.

"Could you shut up for one minute?" Hanae said as she patted her baby's back to burp him. "He was about to knock out."

Mary ignored her and threw herself on the bed.

"I never thought you'd have the guts to cut it."

"I know," Hanae hummed. "I always wanted to cut my hair, I guess I was just scared of what everyone would say."

"Now your hair is the least of people's worries." Mary laughed as she stood up.

"I know, practically the whole world knows that my husband, has a girlfriend."

"An ugly one at that, who would ever cheat on you." Mary pinched her cheek, as she smiled at her. "You're the cutest girl I've ever met... Can I–can I carry him?"

Hanae grimaced.

"Come on, I promise I won't drop him!"

"Okay, okay." She sighed as she let Mary gently pick up Tanjiro.

Her baby started whining, and Mary's eyes widened as she grabbed onto the child awkwardly, her hands not knowing where exactly to land.

"I'm sorry I never learned how to pick up kids!"

"It's okay." Hanae helped her arms cradle him correctly, and he instantly began to settle down in the pink-haired girl's arms.

Mary frowned as she looked down at the child's calm face. "He looks just like Kyoya... and I thought I was stupid."

Hanae tensed up a bit at the mention of her husband's name but she nodded.

"I know..." She closed her eyes and turned around to focus on something else.

"Thank god you broke off things with him, what an asshole."

Hanae nodded, but her thoughts betrayed her as she thought of all the times he'd cared for her in a way no one else could, the way his body would just feel like home when he held her, the way her stomach flipped when his lips met her own, but she quickly shook the thoughts away... Even though her body felt as if it were tethered to his own, sometimes–most times love simply wasn't enough.

She had learned that the hard way with Hideo.

Hanae had once truly and whole-heartedly believed that Hideo was the love of her life. She would've bet her soul on the statement, but now as she looked over at her child, she knew she couldn't have been more wrong.

She knew that every person she thought she'd loved was nothing compared to the love she felt for her child, he was what was missing in her life, her child was her true soulmate.
