Draco P.O.V.It was finally time to come back to this god forsaken place. It didn't help that over the weekend I had received a letter from the ministry saying my mother had left the country and with that everything in her name now belongs to me. I would be a lot happier if I was allowed to even be in the manor but with Pothead around and the situation I'm forced into, it's not even an option. It doesn't help that no one knows that I stopped using a wand and doing magic. Even though I still had some form of access to it, I didn't see the point in it. Using a wand when everyone hates you. I didn't want to do magic and I didn't want anything to do with Pottah for most of the day I looked for any opportunity I had go talk to McGonagall. It was just my luck that I had passed her right before having to go into that God forsaken hall. I told her for the last year I wanted to change subjects. She didn't seem to keen on the idea until she heard the subjects I wanted, she was shocked even. I had dropped all my previous ones and took up herbs, history and animal based classed, all the ones that didn't need a wand. She agreed and instructed me to meet her after the first years speech and assortment in the astronomy tower.
I entered the hall only to have eyes gaze upon me as I made my way to the Slytherin table as the only one there. It soured my day to know the only houses with members were Slytherin, Raven claw and Gryffindor. It didn't help that Luna was to only one in her house when she has so much people that liked her from our year group. She even chose to befriend me some time ago before the trial. I would gladly talk to her if she still considered me a person to converse with.
To my amazement, she did! Not long after entering the hall she came and sat with me. We had talked for a bit and she decided to accompany me to McGonagall. Pottah didn't seem to bothered as long as someone at the school he trusted was with me.When we got to astronomy tower, I found myself confused. Not by the new found paintings of the deceased teachers but by the hat that I thought clearly hated me. We sat down when McGonagall finally entered. To my amusement, she had a grimgot troll with her.
"Draco... As you know your father is in Azkaban and your mother was your guardian. An arrangement was made for you to not only remove the death eaters mark here, but to also start a new at Hogwarts in the magic world."
Did I hear correctly. I'm no longer going to have to use the accursed name Malfoy and I get a fresh start here. My appearance was already seemingly pitiful as I was hiding the fact the my hair had grown to a length father would have hated to see due to my already semi feminine figure.
"Professor... Where do we start."
"Well first... The hat will need to see if you have reason to be resorted. "
"Oh. I don't have much expectations of be resorted but thank you for still letting me try. "
I sat down and put on the sorting hat. I didn't think today would get any weirder but it clearly did.
"Draco, seems you finally stop following your father. I can put you in the correct house this time! But we have a slight issue here."
"An issue?? What is the issue? "
"You fit into every house aside from Slytherin and Gryffindor. "
"Oh... Then whichever you deem right place me there."
"Your a smart kiddos. Well then. Let it be Ravenclaw! "
This was a shocking turn of events, even so that another hat had been thrown up by the sorting hat. Everyone seemed confused. The new had was a black colour.
"Hello Mr. Black. I'm Mist the Hat. I work for your family for years. It's nice to finally get to stay with you family once again."
Confused we all left the had be as it had practically glued itself to me. The next step was to change my name. I signed to relinquish the names Lucious and Malfoy and adopted Marian Black.
