CHAPTER FOURTEEN
I have spent the whole past week trying to find where Shang lives. I have temporarily forgotten about killing his father, and I have forgotten about Talon and mines wedding because it was called off two days ago. Even though half of the time I just want to give up, lay down and do nothing, I know that it is not possible.
"What in the world am I supposed to do with this?!" I cry, trying not to break the computer because I am so annoyed with it. Every time I try something else to locate Shang, the stupid thing just gives me the wrong information. "You should really calm down, you're going to hurt yourself," Larry says, plopping down on our bed. "I'd rather hurt myself then not feel anything at all!" I growl, hitting the side of the computer. He sighs, and lays down on the bed.
The next day, while I am going through my wardrobe looking for an outfit, Larry bursts in. "I've got a lead!" he exclaims, holding out a piece of paper for me. "Tonight I am to meet with a informant about where they are staying. It turns out they aren't staying at their home, but in a friends!" he shouts excitedly. I grab the paper, which is an email printed out, with an address on it. "I'm going with you," I declare, glaring at Larry. "Of course you are!" he cries. We start dancing in my closet, because we might actually have a chance in finding Shang.
Since the address was located at a club, I decided to wear clothes that were club worthy. I put on tight, brown leather pants along with a slouchy black shirt that went off of my shoulder, along with black leather ankle booties that had studs on them. My jewelry consisted of a necklace that had a ruby on it along with some black crystals, and a gold bangle that had the Turkish evil eye symbol painted on it. My clutch was a colorful disarray of tiles. I put my hair in half bun, leaving the bottom half of my heir to curl around my waist and shoulders. "You need some red lipstick," Larry announces as I come out to the bathroom. I put some on, since the fashionista insisted I wear it, then we left to go talk to the informant.
We were allowed into the club, though there was a huge line waiting to get in. I felt a little bad about cutting, but the thought left my mind as I entered the club. Never in my life had I been to one before, which shows you how sheltered my life is, so I was gazing in awe at the place. The place was dark, but it was lit with ultraviolet lights. There were many people dancing and mingling around the bar. Larry led me to the table we were supposed to meet the guy at.
I was staring at all the weirdly dressed people here, when a short red haired guy sat down along with us at the table. "You can't let anyone know about this meeting," he whispers, as if there are people watching us. I want to ask him why would I tell someone that I met him at club, when I am the queen, I don't have to tell anyone anything if I don't want to. "We promise," Larry says, shooting me a weird look. I just stay quiet while they talk over negotiations. Once again, I am so thankful for Larry, because I don't know how I would deal with doing this. "The son, is getting married in Nagoya, at a small......" he says, and my mind wanders off to how I am going to get Shang to listen to me. "The son's name is Shang, the one getting married," says the man, and I am jolted out of my reverie. I don't know why I thought he wouldn't stop getting married just because he told me he loved me, but I thought he was going to call it off. But then I guess after he learned that I had a fiancée, even if he loved me, it wouldn't matter if he got married or not because we couldn't be together. There might also be the tiny little problem that he just might hate my guts for lying to him, and all of that, but I would have to take my chances.
Once we got home, Larry ordered two plane tickets for him and I to go to Japan. "Thank you so much Larry," I whisper, as he packs both of our clothes in some suitcases. "No problem Chickadee," he says, smiling at me. I hug him tightly wondering what I would do without my best friend in the world.
