Jack's POV

At exactly six I knocked on Lindy's room. I stepped back and waited for her to open. Captain Jim asked me to be her escort to the ball. I had no choice but to agree. After a few minutes the door of the room opened and there she stood, nervously.

She was beautiful. She wore a long, blue strapless dress that matched the shades of the ocean. It had a light blue ribbon which hung on her right hip. The top part of the dress was mixture of blue and silver. Her shoes were silver too. She had kept her makeup very light. She only had put on eye liner and a pink shade on her lips.

I only noticed that I was staring at her when she cleared her throat. I regained myself.

"Um..yea. I'm here to take you to the ball room. You ready?" I asked her. She gave me and small nod and I lead the way.

While climbing down the stairs I looked back to see if she was still following me. I turned around to find myself a looking at her face to face. She blushed a little and removed her hand from my hip. I turned and motioned her to follow me.

When we arrived at the party, the music stopped and I recieved a command from Captain Jim to lead the way. I gave her my hand. She hesitated at first but gave a small smile and kept her hand on mine. On the touch I felt electricity pass through us. I ignored and started walking towards the ballroom.

Lindy and I walked all the way to Captain Jim. From there, Captain Jim took her hand and asked her to sit on the stage. I left her with her problems and walked towards my best friend, James.

"Hi Jakey! Can you believe that she is Jane's daughter. They look so alike especially the way they walked," James told me. James has been in this boat since he was two. He was also there when Lindy's mom was alive. Jane had raised him and made him the man he was today.

"Yeah. She does look like Jane. Also have you seen Natalie? I haven't seen her since the argument I had with her this evening." James told me that he didn't see her.

The whole part I stole glances at Lindy to see if she was alright. Then I found Natalie. She was standing leaning against a pillar where she was looking at Lindy with rage. I walked towards her and asked her to dance. She gave me a smile and agreed. With that I knew that all was forgiven. The whole night we dance unti the time came for me to dance with Lindy.

She gave me a small encouragement to go ahead and I held out my hand and she took it. 'A thousand Years' started playing and we danced to the rythem. It was along dane and we were close to each other. For the first few minutes she avoided looking at me and then it was normal. She laughed a little when I twirled her and then the song was over.

She let go of me and headed back to Captain Jim who announced that it was time for us to head back to our dorms. Before I could reach Lindy, Kim came up to her and took her. Then I headed back to my room where I found Natalie waiting for me.
