Lindy's POV
I went to bed and fell asleep instantly but after a few minutes a thundering noise woke me up. I looked out of my window and saw a massive storm headed towards the ship. I got my robe and started to head towards the deck.
The deck was quite dark with one lamp glowing at the far edge of the ship. In the shadows I could see a person move. I tensed up and started to move closer to the person. When I came closer I saw that it was Jack. He had changed from the tuxedo into a simple pajama and top. This made him look even amazing.
He didn't notice I was there until I stood next to him. He turned his face and gave me a small smile. I returned it without hesitating.
"It's beautiful, the sea I mean. I have never been that far away from home", I told him. He looked down at me and replied. "Yeah, it must be tough for you, it was for me too when I had to leave my home too". After that he was silent.
"Your parents were pirates too?" I inquired. After a long pause he replied "Yes my mother was. My father wasn't. Got quite a shock when my mom told him."
"Oh..." was all I could think of. After staring at the horizon I turned to head back to my room. I turned too quickly missing a step. But before I could fall, a hand grabbed me and pulled me up. I stood there looking at his eyes while he did the same. We were just inches away from each other.
"I'm not interrupting anything aren't I?" a voice came from behind us. There stood Natalie who wasn't looking that happy. Jack immediately removed his hand from my waist. "Um..no actually, I was about to trip but Jack caught me" She didn't look convinced but shrugged her shoulder like it was nothing.
"No, it's fine, you don't have to leave. I just came here because Captain Jim went to your room to see that you weren't there. He called me up and told me to look for you," Natalie informed me. She wasn't bad. Her attitude lessened when Jack went towards her and gave her a peck on her cheeks. She started to blush.
"I have to go now and I'll talk to you guys later?" Jack told us. Natalie and I nodded and he left.
I turned towards Natalie who was now next to me bending over the ships railing.
"Natalie,umm..you should know that there is nothing going on between Jack and I. That was clearly an accident."
She didn't look at me but replied with a hundred percent certainty in her voice "I know, it's just I become possessive sometimes. But it's okay, I guess."
"Natalie, umm there aren't that many women pirates in this ship. Why do you think so?" I ask her.
This time she turns and faces me "Well it's because they get married and have kids. So it's quite hard for them to fight and raise kids, so men do most of the work. But your mother was an exception. She fought gallantly even when she was eight months pregnant"
"Oh..what about your mother or father?" I ask and she immediately looks away. I notice her hesitation to tell me. "My father was a pirate and died when my mother was two months pregnant. When I was born she died immediately. I never saw them. I was taken cared by my grandmother who lives in Texas."
I nod and tell her a quick bye before I head off to to my room. I wanted to get ready for today. I had a feeling that today will be an emotional and busy day for me.
I took out a pair of jeans and a casual top and changed. I put on a little of lip balm to make my lips look moist. After I changed I took out my phone to see missed calls and texts from various people. The most recent one was from Katelyn who texted to inform me that she has gone to London for the rest of the summer.
I was about to close my phone when something caught my eye. It was a calender and it said "ONLY TWO DAYS FOR MY B'DAY!! :)" I looked at it and smiled. But apparently I won't get to have the party I was going to have but was happy that I was in a place where my mother was raised.
There was a knock on the door. I groaned and opened it to see Kim. She handed me a paper which read "Meet me at the deck at 2, after lunch. We will talk there"
I looked at the time and it read 6 am. I lay on my bed and listened to some songs by Big Time Rush. At 7 an alarm went off telling us that it was time for us to head to the kitchen for breakfast. I then went to eat breakfast along with the others.
