Cravings

One

She took another big bite of the pickle before licking the ice cream cone in her other hand. She was in heaven really, the best combination ever. She followed her very flamboyant and nicest sister ever around the baby store. Noemi was her only sister, but she was the best and she loved her, so I'm that is why  she was here walking around this store choosing baby stuff. But honestly, she was looking out the glass door to the massage chairs out in the hallway of the big mall. Sitting on one of those would make her the happiest woman in the world. "Oh, look at this little tutu!" her sister said excitedly. She nodded to her as she finished her concoction.

"We don't know the gender yet Omi!" She said (when she was younger she couldn't say her sister's name so Omi became her name) as she took the tutu away from her sister. "We came for a crib and a car seat. Neutral colors remember what Jace said." Jace was her brother-in-law and a good guy for her sister. He was her sister's yang. The total opposite but they just clicked so well.

"I know you're right but what if it is a girl and when I come back, they don't have it anymore?" Noemi asked as she walked away from the baby's clothes.

She rolled her eyes at her sister, "they will have better ones then." She answered clearing her throat. "What would you say if I wait for you out in the hall in one of those chairs?" She asked her sister who was now looking at some baby cribs. She emphasized her longing for the chairs by rubbing her hand over her nonexistent stomach.

Her sister looked at her and after a smile nodded, "go I know you've been up since six and we need my baby to be okay. You are carrying extra weight now." She finally says rubbing Hailey's nonexistent stomach too.

She walked out the baby store and smiled as she saw the chairs and quickly made her way to one digging into her purse for two quarters. She took a seat and turned it on. Soon it was doing its magic, and she closed her eyes enjoying the moment. She was in heaven as she enjoyed her moment when a small hand startled her, and her eyes snapped open. There stood a little boy who tapped her hand again. God she wasn't the best with kids she was more of a dog person but maybe this was God telling her she needed to get over it soon. She had a baby growing inside her as she sat there. Good thing she wasn't keeping it in fact it wasn't even her egg or her significant other's sperm either. This was her sister's doing she was just loaning the oven to her. But she still had to love the baby she knew. She was brought back finally when the mother grabbed him and apologized. She smiled and waved it off as she saw them walk away. "Not a kid person I see." She was started by the deep voice to her left. She hadn't notice anyone there before but now there sat a tall man with so many rings on his fingers.

"No, I like babies." She stated not really wanting to talk about it. She tried to go back into bliss when he cleared his throat again and she looked at him seeing his face first instead of his fingers. He had the prettiest eyes she ever seen, and his smile was nice. What was she thinking? She can't be looking for boys right now she is about to be as big as Humpty Dumpty and then she was going to pop a baby. Not the time to notice a guy.

"I like them too just as long as they are not mine. Not ready for that yet." He says smiling wider making her gawk at his dimple. God reel it in she thought smiling and giggling when she saw her sister walking to her with a big smile.

"Hail's you ready to get our Manny's and Peddy's?" She asked waving at the man. "Sorry I'm Noemi" She extended her hand.

She watched them shake hands and she was able to take control of her thoughts. She stood up and cleared her throat. "Yes, let's go. Nice to meet you." She said waving toward the man.

"Right, I'm Harry. Enjoy the rest of your day ladies." He winked and waved at them both as she dragged her sister away.

Once they were out of earshot Noemi exhaled. "Who was that? He is very handsome." She says with an actual blush on her face.

Hailey shrugged and grumbled a bit, "I don't know him he was sat there and just started talking to me. Need I remind you that you are married and have a baby on the way?" She asked really just to mess with her sister.

"Eye candy is eye candy. I appreciate a good man all the time, but I would never trade my Jace for anyone. I was thinking more for you dear sis. He is very nice looking imagine how cute your babies would be?" Noemi answered with glazed eyes.

Hailey shook her head, "no, no, no! I am not ready for that and beside right now I can't really have a boyfriend for obvious reasons. I'm pregnant and soon I will look like Humpty Dumpty. HELLO!!!"

"A real man wouldn't care FYI. I think a real man would think that what you are doing for me is the most selfless thing ever. But you are right. We need to focus on the bundle of joy growing in there which will be a girl hopefully if god loves me." Her sister said excitedly as they finally found the nail spa and they both went in.

"I kind of want it to be girl too." Hailey smiled to her sister as they both took a seat to get their pedicures done. "I want yellow nails what do you think? Reminds me of Sunflowers."

Noemi nodded as she went for a hot pink color. Hailey smiled and dug through her purse and took out her worn out book. Her favorite book. She began to read where she had left off as they worked on her toes.

"Mr. Darcy is still the man to beat huh?" Noemi asked bringing her back from Pemberley, Elizabeth, and Mr. Darcy meeting at his home.

"Well, he is a nice guy eventually. But if I had to choose it would be Captain Wentworth from Persuasion  he would be more my cup of tea. But I don't think my liking for tattooed men would go well in that era!" Hailey answered. "But also, we all know fictional characters are that just fictional."

Chewing on her lip Noemi looked at her again and smiled, "thank you. I know I've said it but you don't understand how much all this means to me."

Hailey made a gagging face, "ugh please no more of this. I love you and I'm doing it because I love you. No more or I won't hang out with you again till after the baby's birth." Then she pretended to go back to reading.

"Oh my god..." Noemi whispers as they see the guy walking by and waving at them. She rolled her eyes and went back to her reading as her sister waved back. "If I was single..." she murmured.

"You'd be a cougar." Hailey said bluntly bursting into laughter. That made Noemi laugh and she nodded agreeing with her. "You know what I do need as soon as possible?" Hailey finally said.

"Hmm?" Noemi asked.

"Clothes."
