Cravings

Two

Hailey grumbled as she put on the dress. That was all that fit her from her regular clothes. She did need new clothes. She had a very small bump now showing. You really had to look to see it but she could see it. But being pregnant was not going to stop her from going to work. She loved her job so here she was getting ready to go. She also had a big green smoothie made for her by her sister who was already at her loft making her lunch for later and cleaning her home. Not that she was a dirty person, but her sister had become so worried about the pregnancy that now she was a mother hen. Coming over and cleaning, doing her laundry, and if she could probably shower her. But Hailey drew the line there.  She put on her signature red lipstick and sighed. Putting on her favorite pumps she walked out of her room and smiled as her sister handed her a lunch box. "Thanks?" 

"No problem please eat it all. I also made sure to put some snacks for you to snack on. I'll see you at my house after work for dinner. Jace is making Thai!" She said in a peppy voice. "I'll take Lulu with me so she won't be here all alone." Her mini poodle wagged her tail at the mention of her name. The spoil brat loved the attention from anyone. 

"Okay I'll be there. Behave Lulu," Hailey said as she petted her baby. She grabbed her purse and keys and out the door she left. Her job waited on her and she couldn't wait either she had a few books to edit before they could be published.

After a very long drive due to traffic she made it to the building she worked in. She had already finished her smoothie and a couple of her snacks. She was really never a snacker but apparently being pregnant made snacking a thing.

After an elevator ride to the fourth floor she walked to her shared office. Her friend and co-worker was already typing away on the book he was working on. She waved and took a seat as well right away starting her computer. Johnny waved back and told her he would be at her desk to chat as soon as he finished his chapter.

She nodded and began her own work. After a few minutes true to his words Johnny was telling her about his date with a guy he met at Starbucks. How there would be a second date as well. They made plans to go to lunch since she was already eating the sandwich her sister had made her with the side of carrots and broccoli. She just wouldn't tell her about going to lunch.

The rest of her morning was busy as she worked and chatted with Johnny. "Is it normal to already feel like a whale?" She asked him as she finished a piece of broccoli.

"You don't look like a whale, you actually look glowy. Besides I think your butt looks bigger. You don't have a stomach yet you look good. Maybe you just feel like one but you shouldn't." He said as he ate a cookie.

Hailey shrugged and continued to do her work. Then before she knew it Johnny was up and at her desk telling her it was time to go get lunch. "Let's go to Luigi's I'm craving pasta."

Hailey hums in agreement as she pictures herself getting spaghetti and a tiramisu. "Yes let's."

The drive was fast and before she knew the both of them had a tea in hand waiting for for the food to arrive. Knowing Noemi wanted her to take care of herself she opted for some salad as an appetizer. But that didn't stop her from taking some of Johnny's bread and his cheese. Johnny continued to entertain her with his story of his date and how romantic it had been.

"Yes we slept together on the first date..." He said with a smile. "I just couldn't let him go. I really do like him and he works at Starbucks part time as he finishes college. He's going to be a mechanical engineer whatever that is."

"Well you are smitten sir," Hailey said with a big smile. She was happy for him, he deserved this.

Soon there food had arrived and they dug in. Eventually Hailey had to go to the restroom because pregnancy meant peeing frequently. She only wandered how bad it would get when she was bigger. She excused herself and found the ladies restroom only for it to be locked. She cursed under her breath but she couldn't hold it. She tried the men's restroom to her luck it was empty she had no choice but to use it, she locked the door, and did her business. Hoping no one would be outside to notice she had used the men's room.

She finished washing her hands and opened the door only to bump into someone. "Oh I'm sorry the -" she stopped talking when she saw who it was. What the fuck was this? How in the world did she bump into this man again. He of course is smiling. "The girls room was busy so I used the men's." She finished.

He looks at her quizzically, "good to know didn't want to think that under that gorgeous dress was a man. Not that it's a bad thing it's just you look very nice," he finishes before smiling at her again. "I didn't get your name properly last time Hails? I only got your sister's name."

Hailey nods, "right it's Hailey and I have to go. On my lunch break." She says moving out of the way but stops when he blocks her.

"It was nice seeing you again." He finally says before disappearing into the bathroom. Leaving Hailey trying to gain her composure. Why was she this way? He made her nervous and flustered apparently. She finally took the first step and rushed back to her table where Johnny was eating away.

"Sorry the girls restroom was busy had to use the men's." She explains digging back into her food. "I hope all this craving goes away soon." She mumbles.

"Oh, sweetie be glad you have food cravings. Wait till you start getting horny out of no where. The worst part you don't have anyone to scratch that itch when it comes. Oh and it will..." He says nonchalantly.

Hailey is staring at him with wide eyes, "I'm sure not every pregnant woman gets the same side effects." She finally says biting one of her finger nails.

Johnny chuckles, "remember my mother is an RN so she says it never fails. But maybe we can find you someone, like AJ from the GYM. He has the hots for you. I'm sure he wouldn't mind helping you out."

Hailey is shaking her head, "AJ is not an option. I won't need anyone I'll be fine. I don't need sex like I need oxygen Johnny." She whispers.

"If you say so. But if you change your mind I have AJ's number. Unless you finally want to try tinder or whatever app you females use." He says before taking a gulp of his tea.

"I don't use those apps thank you very much and I'll be fine. Can we order our dessert to go? We need to head back." She mumbles loosing the rest of her appetite after that conversation. Was this the reason she felt the way she did with that Harry guy? God she hated these hormones. But it was too late to change her mind about lending her uterus. The baby was already baking in there. She would be fine. She was never a very sexual person she knew how to control herself. Yes. She would be fine.
