Cravings

Five

She counted her blessings that Harry had left before she even woke up. The blanket was folded and a text was sent to her. Thanking her for her hospitality and apologizing for leaving without saying good bye. He mentioned that he thought she wouldn't want  to have to explain his presence to her sister and he also had an early morning meeting at his job. He promised to text her later on. She had a permanent smile on her face as she texted him back that she had a wonderful time as well.

She put the blanket to wash before she changed her mind and kept it like that for as long as his smell stayed on it. She quickly went to her room to change and be ready she had an appointment with the doctor today for a checkup on the pea inside her. She had just finished curling her hair when she heard Lulu yapping as Noemi came in.

"I got your smoothie," Noemi yelled as she heard her place things on her island. "I also got you a bagel with cream cheese."

"Is it the raisin cinnamon bagel? Toasted?" Hailey asked as she put on her favorite lip gloss.

"Of course!" She heard her sister say as she made it to the kitchen where her sister was putting away some healthy groceries into her fridge. "You missed me beating Jace last night. He lost all his money and owed me so much by the time we quit playing." Noemi said with a smile on her face.

Hailey shook her head, "yeah I bet, I wasn't there to beat the both of you at Monopoly." She said before taking a big gulp of the green smoothie hating the celery taste. "You know I hate celery," she complained.

"I know and I'm sorry I totally forgot about it and had already added it to the blender. It won't happen again promise. I added extra green apples and pineapple to try and mute the celery flavor." Noemi said with a grimace on her face.

Hailey rolled her eyes and continued to drink the juice before taking a bite of the bagel, it was what she needed. "I think I gained weight for sure," Hailey said as she took another bite of her bagel.

Noemi nodded agreeing, "yeah I can tell besides you are wearing slightly bigger clothes. I can't wait to see your belly swollen. I also can't wait to know the gender."

"Yeah, yeah we know you want a girl preferably but it really doesn't matter as long as it's healthy." Hailey says before finishing off the bagel, "let's go I don't want to be late."

After the uneventful checkup where Hailey was told to just be careful with what she ate and to not miss her prenatal vitamin she was back home alone. After performing her best act yet and assuring her sister all she needed was a good night's rest and some time alone. She was in her kitchen making her favorite cookie. It wasn't a traditional cookie not here in America anyway, but from Mexico it was a tradition. Being her mother's daughter and loving to bake she loved Mexican cuisine not that she didn't love her father's side of cuisine. Italian was very good too and she loved pasta. But right now, she wanted these sugar cookies with cinnamon on them. She wasn't going to eat them all but, still baking helped her calm down. So here she was putting all the ingredients together and the T.V. blaring the "First forty-eight hours".  Lulu by her side hoping to get a taste of the mixture but of course she wouldn't give her any. 

As she is busy putting the cookies into sheet she hears a knock which made her stop. She hadn't invited anyone and she had told her sister that the rest of this day she would prefer to be alone. So she hoped it wasn't her cause she was going to get an earful if it was. She quickly washed her hands and tried to remember if she maybe had ordered something from Amazon. But she just couldn't but then she smiled as she saw the face of Harry smiling back at her. He was carrying takeout again and were those dog treats? Lulu was already yapping and wagging her knub wildly. 

"Hey! I know I didn't text you or tell you I was coming but here I am with some Chik fila and some pepperoni bites for Lulu veterinary approved of course." He shrugs as Hailey steps aside to let him in.
