Cravings

Four

Hailey put her cell phone away when she realized that Johnny was staring at her weirdly. "Sorry text from my dad. Him with his dad jokes." She lied. 

Johnny nodded suspiciously, "right.  How was dinner last night?" 

"Good and afterward, I got a pregnancy pillow that Jace says I will definitely use once I start showing." She says before looking at her phone again and smiling. There was a picture of a baby otter that was so cute. Since exchanging numbers with Harry, they had been sending each other random silly and cute pictures. 

"Okay call me crazy but this is the first time in a long time that I see you pay so much attention to your cell phone," Johnny says standing up and taking her phone away. She couldn't stop him. He was already looking at it, "So who is this and why haven't I heard about him?" 

Hailey rolled her eyes and sighed, "Harry is a guy I met, and we are friends. There is nothing else to say." She tells him before taking her phone back. 

"So, you guys made plans to watch a movie tonight and you are just friends?" He asks looking at her suspiciously. Then a big smile spreads on his face, "You know he can help when you get horny cause of the hormones." He chuckles, "is he cute?" 

"He's not bad looking. But we are just friends." She says exasperated ignoring Johnny and trying to concentrate back on her work. 

"Okay, just you know keep it in mind." He pointed to his head as he said it, before going back to his desk to continue to his work.

Hailey was busy putting a tray of  assorted snacks on her center table while her popcorn machine made the popcorn. She loved the smell of popcorn popping; Lulu was following her around very attentive to what she was doing. She smiled at her and took out some treats for her as well. Lulu went nuts as she saw the treats. 

She had changed into some cute floral shorts and a loose shirt. Her hair was down and she wore her favorite flip flops. This was the best it was going to get for her as she went ahead and chugged her vegetable smoothie that her sister made her take every day. She took her vitamins as well before she knew it thow there was a buzz at her door, so she went to answer it. 

There stood harry with a bag of Chinese food and a big smile. "Hey, come on in, don't mind Lulu she's a bit crazy as you can see." Lulu was already trying to get all the attention from him. This made him bend down and pet the happy go lucky puppy. 

He followed her to her open kitchen and set the food on her island, "Orange chicken steamed rice and veggies. I also brought some lo mien cause its delicious." He looked at her, "can I wash my hands first?" 

Hailey nodded as she grabbed some plates and utensils for the food. She began opening up the containers as she sighed, the smell was so good. "Do you want me to serve you, or do you want to do it yourself?" 

"Whichever is fine," he answered as he dried his hands. He smiled as she went ahead and served both plates with a little bit of everything. "Are we eating here?" 

She shook her head as she took a piece of broccoli into her mouth, "no, we can eat in the living room. We are watching a movie remember?" She grabbed her's and his plate and went toward her living room placing the plates on her coffee table with the treats. "What would you like to drink?" she asked him. 

"Water is fine," he answered as he looked at all the different treats and popcorn laying on the table. "I see you mean business when it comes to treats." He said as he took a seat on the couch. 

Hailey shrugged handing him a bottled water, "it's the only time I eat like that." She says sitting beside him but not before pulling out a big container with DVDs in them. "I'm old school so we choose from here." She opened the box and showed him her collection of movies. 

"You still own a DVD player?" he asked as he looked through the box, "I love it though I still owe a record player you know, from way back in the days." He skimmed through them and he finally looked at her, "lets watch one of your favorites today and next time one of mine yeah?" 

She agreed and she quickly found the movie she wanted to watch, "let's watch this one then, has two of my favorite actors of all time," she pulled out the DVD and showed it to him. 

"Cat on a hot tin roof," Harry read looking at the cover, "and old movie I see. Let's do it." He watched her put it on as he began to eat his food. "Let me guess you love Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor?" 

"Yes." Hailey said excitedly taking a seat grabbing her plate and began to eat, "I mean I love Paul Newman so much, my number one favorite of all time. Even more than James Dean. Elizabeth Taylor just embodied beauty without having to change her looks. She's good too." 

"I would of thought Marilyn Manroe would be up there most women love her," he says but then he stopped talking as the movie began. 

"Not me I'm more of an Audrey Hepburn or Elizabeth Taylor kind of girl." She whispered also shutting up as the movie began with Paul at a racing track trying to run over hurdles.

They both watched in silence as they finished their food and then began snacking. Soon Lulu was sitting between them also seeming to enjoy the movie and stealing a popcorn here and there. Hailey couldn't help but admit she was having fun. It was nice finding someone to watch movies with that didn't judge her choices. She excused herself for a few to grab a blanket when she got cold only to have Lulu move closer to her and cuddle. What she didn't expect was Harry also scooting over and asking her to share the blanket which she obliged. 

Hailey didn't remember when it had happened, but she lay on top of a sleeping Harry while Lulu rested on their feet. Her TV was off now, and it looked like it was pretty late. She could hear a light snore from the man under her and she tried to not wake him as she tried to stand up. Her bladder was screaming at her and if she didn't go to the bathroom something horrible would happen. Successfully she was up and quickly rushed to the bathroom with a now awake Lulu following her. She did her business washed her hands before checking her phone and seeing the time. It was just one thirty in the morning. Tip toeing, she fixed the blanket on him and took off his boots. Then slowly she picked up the mess on the center table. After throwing away what needed to be tossed and washing everything else, she made sure her door was locked and walked to her room layin down with Lulu climbing behind her. She couldn't believe that there was practically a stranger sleeping on her couch, and she couldn't wake him up to tell him to go. She hoped that her gut was right, and he was a good guy. Meanwhile she had to admit he was quite comfortable the only reason she had woken up was because of her bladder and the pea growing inside her that was using it as a trampoline. What timing to be interested in someone when her body was not really hers? 

That was the other thing he seemed to not care that she was pregnant. That was something different for her, normally guys ran away from a pregnant woman unless they are the father or if they were gay. She sighed and finally forced her eyes shut. She needed to sleep and make sure to be up on time to get Harry out of her house before her sister showed up. She wasn't ready to tell her sister anything about Harry or have her worry. They were just friends, right? She wouldn't mind dating him but for now friends would have to do.
