Chapter 2: The Calm Before The Storm

Gusts of wind blow throughout the bustling village, making its way towards the Jade Palace. In the Training Yard, Li is standing with his eyes closed and is trying to focus. He takes a deep breath and opens his eyes and begins to extend his arms forward and lightning starts to appear at the palm of his hands. He waves his arms around while trying to maintain his concentration to keep the lightning from disappearing. Suddenly, a leaf flies off a tree nearby and it makes contact with the bridge of Li's nose. Li gets slightly annoyed and the lightning disappears.

Li- I think that's enough for today.

Li strolls over to the Dining Hall and he can hear shouting coming from the other side of the front door.

???- 33!

Bang!

???- 34!

Bang!

Li- What the heck?

Mantis- How's he doing that with his face?

Li opens the door to see Po attempting to beat his record of the most amount of bean buns stuffed in one's mouth while his sister and the Furious Five watch in awe. Po places another bean bun in his mouth and slams his fist onto the table.

Po- (mouth full) 38 bean buns!

Everyone cheers.

Akemi- Wow, that could've been a world record!

Li- If anyone could fit more in than Po, I'd be amazed.

Akemi turns around and sees Li standing behind the group.

Akemi- Hey Li. Are you getting the hang of that lightning yet?

Li- Not quite, it's a bit difficult to be completely in control.

Akemi- Oh. Well on the upside, (turns to Monkey) You owe me 3 ryo.

Monkey sighs and gives the ryo to her.

Li- An upside to who exactly?

Akemi- Well me of course. Me and Monkey made a bet that Po would be able to fit 38 bean buns into his mouth.

Li- I'm pretty sure he could fit more.

Monkey- What? No way.

Li- Care to bet on that? If Po doesn't make it to 40, I make you the best cookie you have ever tasted.

Monkey- Deal!

Crane- Come on, he'll never hit 40!

Akemi- Yes he will, bird boy. Just watch.

Crane slightly blushes at Akemi's remark and then they all focus on Po who was filled with determination. Po picks up two more bean buns with his chopsticks and looks at the group.

Po- (muffled) You're on! I'll put it up to 40!

Tigress- Do it.

Po- (muffled) No Problem!

Po places the buns into his already filled mouth. After some struggling, Po manages to fit a total of 40 bean buns into his mouth and looks at the group in front of him who were staring in shock. Po throws his hands up victoriously and everyone cheers.

Akemi- I told you he could do it!

Crane smiles and walks around the table and next to Po.

Crane- Well done, Po!

Crane slaps Po on the shoulder and the bean buns in his mouth fly out and towards the group. Akemi evades the buns, Tigress and Li block them, and Monkey and Mantis get hit by them.
