Chapter 6: A Journey That Only Just Begun

Most of the group had made it to Shifu but still had to wait for Akemi. After a moment had passed, they could hear quick footsteps and someone breathing quickly that seemed to be originating from outside the entrance of the palace. Soon after, Akemi appears from the stairs and pauses to catch her breath.

Li- Long time, no see.

Akemi- Yeah, sorry it took me so long. I came as soon as I could. What's going on?

Li- Don't know just yet, Master Shifu wanted to wait until everyone had arrived.

Akemi- Oh, (turns to Shifu) What's happening?

Everyone else faced Shifu who looked to still be in disbelief of what he was reading from the open scroll in his hands.

Shifu- Are you familiar with the Master of Gongmen City?

Li- You mean Master Thundering Rhino?

Shifu- Yes

Akemi- Son of the Legendary Flying Rhino?

Shifu- Yes

Po- And the Slayer of 10,000 serpents of the Valley of Woe?

Shifu- He's dead.

Po- Whoa.

Everyone displayed a look of shock before ultimately going into denial. Master Rhino was a legendary warrior for a good reason and it shouldn't be possible for him to be defeated in battle by anyone he faces.

Crane- That's impossible!

Tigress- His horn is impervious to any technique.

Akemi- Yeah, how can he be dead?

Shifu- This was no technique! Lord Shen has created a weapon that spits fire and metal...

Shifu turns to face the eight warriors.

Shifu...Unless he is stopped, this could be the end of Kung Fu!

Po- But we just got Kung-Fu!

Shifu- Yes and now you all must save it! Now go! Destroy the weapon and bring Lord Shen to justice!

Everyone nodded and swiftly started making their way down the stairs, all except Po, who decided to stay behind to talk to Shifu. Akemi hitched a ride from Crane and Li started to chuckle.

Akemi- What's so funny?

Li- Ohh, nothing. Just don't get too carried away!

Akemi- If I wasn't...

Crane- What does he mean by that?

Akemi- Uh...nothing!

Akemi quickly changes the subject as Po catches up with the group and they enter the village. Most of them stopped soon after entering when they heard Mr. Ping yell from the restaurant to get the group's attention. Li was almost a meter away before he noticed that the group was behind him and immediately stopped in his tracks. After a bit of time had passed, Li became lost in his own thoughts once again. Viper looked at Li while Mr. Ping brought out Po's action figures and felt that something still needed to be done but didn't know how to go about it.

Tigress- Ahem

Viper looked at Tigress who hints for her to talk to Li while she still could. Viper nodded and slithers over to Li.

Viper- Uhh..Li?

Li didn't answer as he was still a bit distracted. Viper attempts to tap his shoulder but to no avail, so she wraps around Li's shoulder and pulls herself up to get some height and hopefully grab his attention, which still didn't, and positions her head next to his ear.
