Chapter 5

Feawin flew toward the castle as fast as he could. As he flew over the forest he looked down and saw Faelee and Azlowe walking. I must see if she is ok! I will just follow them quietly. But what he didn't realize was that although Azlowe may be clumsy he was as keen as they come. Azlowe sensed Feawins presence. "Stop" Azlowe said in a hushed voice as he put an arm out in front of the princess. "We are being followed"
Feawin perched on a branch just above the princess. That beast must be trying to take her away! He definitely isn't one of the guards I don't recognize him at all. As Feawin was trying to figure out how to get the princess away from Azlowe, one of his feathers fell off and floated to the ground. Azlowe noticed the feather, picked up a rock and hurled it to the tree top. Thump! It hit Feawin. He lost his balance and tumbled down the tree landing in front of the great beast. Feawin jumped up "hey you foolish clumsy ox! You could have killed me!"

"That was kind of the point" Alzowe replied "but I guess I'll have to do it with my own two hands" Azlowe swung his giant fist connecting with an already dazed Feawin. Feawin stood to his feet shaking it off and went on the attack. He swung his talons at Azlowes chest leaving three clean cuts on his chest.

"Urgghhhhh" Azlowe grunted in pain he lowered his head and charged Feawin. Feawin moved just in time as he jumped to the side he kicked Azlowe in the side causing him to stumble "leave the princess alone beast!" Feawin said with anger and protection in his voice. Faelee then realized what was happening.

"STOP" she shouted just as Azlowe lowered his head again.

"Why stop your highness?" Azlowe asked very confused. "He is a predator"

"No he is a very sweet creature who may look like a predator but does not prey on us. He is not here for hurt me he is here to protect me. That is very sweet and I am flattered by that gesture. He thought you were here to hurt me because you don't look like a guard..."

"Well that's because they don't have armor to fit me" Azlowe interrupted.

"Yes Azlowe I know" the princess said putting her hand on his arm. "That's why he was spying on me to protect me. And you thought he was here to hurt me. Azlowe this is Feawin. Feawin this is Azlowe my guard."

"Nice to meet you" Feawin said sticking out his hand Azlowe took his hand and replied. " nice to meet you too"

"Now that you know that I am in fact ok you can leave" the princess said turning to Feawin.

"Yes your highness" Feawin said as he took a bow and flew off. He flew to the top of a strong oak tree just a few steps ahead of them.

" you have taken a liking to him haven't you" Azlowe said to the princess.

"How do you know"she replied.

"I could see it in your eyes."

"Yes I do truly think I have fallen for him but I can't. He is predator and I am prey it is a forbidden love. My father will never allow it. Plus he has arranged for me to marry the princess of Oakland forest with in the next season. And besides how can a predator like him fall for a fawn like me"

"Your highness he has fallen for you. If he hadn't why would he fly all this way to come and see if you were ok? I am sure he would fight off Knaruku for you."

"I highly doubt he would do that." Faelee sounded so defeated. 

But Feawin was so happy she does love me and of course I would fight off Knaruku for her. I would go to the ends of the forest for her! That beast is right I definitely have fallen for her. And with that he flew away feeling light as a feather.
