A Soaring Love

Chapter two

Feawins mind was swirling with a tornado of emotions. Why didn't I kill him when I had the chance, he thought, my talons were right at his neck why couldn't I do it. I know why but that shouldn't have stopped me. Feawin reached up to the amulet that hung around his neck but he only grabbed air. Wait where is my fathers amulet? Feawin went into a panic. I know I had it around my neck then I saw Knoruku and oh no! I must have lost it in the clearing! Feawin quickly turned around and flew back to the clearing. He landed in the middle of it the guards and the princess and the queen were gone. Good he thought the last thing I need is for them to know I exist. Now where is that amulet I need it. Feawin started to look through the brush and under rock and bushes. " what are you looking for?" a soft voice spoke out. Feawin turned around ready to fight but was met with the soft eyes of the princess. Faelee held up the amulet and said "is this what you seek?"

" umm," feawin was taken back by her beauty she was more beautiful up close but she could never love a predator like me our kind don't mix.

"hello?"

Feawin snapped out of his daze "um yes could I have that back please it is very important to me"

"of course you can" she said handing it to him. Feawin hesitantly reached for it. "you can take it im not going to hurt you im not like those guards or even my father." Faelees face went dark at the mention of her father.

" a-are you ok?" feawin hesitantly asked. He knew that she wouldn't tell him since he was a predator.

"actually im not ok. My father is a terrible man he never let me and my mom have space and I blame him for the attack on my mom. I knew he never liked her and I feel like he did something to cause it" as faelee looked up at feawin he could see she had tears in her eyes he wanted to just comfort her but he didn't know how. " t-thank you" faelee said as she tried to hold back the tears.

" for what?" feawin asked.

"for listening to me I really needed that"

"well it's the least I could do in fact I should be thanking you" feawin said.

" why should you be thanking me?" faelee was so confused she hasn't don't anything for the hansome falcon standing tall in front of her.

" you didn't tell the guards about me" feawins kind eyes looked down at her.

"well", she replied " my mother always told me you can trust the winged people more than the furry ones and I now can see that."

"well the sun is going down and I must be going home" said feawin looking towards the west. "and you should too princess"

" yes that is a good idea" replied faelee. "will I ever see you again?"

"how about this I will tell you I live in a cave on lone tree cliff if you really do want to see me you can see me there but make sure you are alone" feawin had a sparkle in his eye when he told her this.

" great I know where that is" faelee said with excitement in her voice.

"good well you better get heading home princess its getting dark" she could sense a protective tone in his voice.

" ok I will but you never told me your name"

" that will be for another time" he said with a slight smile.

"ok well then I will see you later winged stranger" faelee said with a chuckle. She started through the forest back to the castle. But little did she know the winged stranger was flying above her silently making sure she got to the castle safe. Why is she so perfect. She is beautiful why is her father making her marry that terrible prince from the other kingdom. He is going to treat her just like her father treated the queen, I cant watch that happen. I could give her so much more. I could give her a life of freedom and happiness she wouldn't have to worry about the guards or knaruku because I will have killed him to keep her from living in fear.

Faelee took her time walking back home. She could not get the winged stranger out of her head. He is so caring I can tell mother was definitely correct. He has a heart of gold the way he looked at me with concern on his face when he saw me crying. And his deep voice just made me feel so safe. And he has the strongest arms. I would be so safe for him. But he would never go for me we are predator and prey that would never work. But I want to be with him at all times just after this meeting. My mother must have seen him I know he fought the bear he had some fresh scratches on his arms. And one across his chest that one was deep maybe I should go tomorrow and help him bandage them up. No im sure he will be ok. But he did come back but it was just for the amulet. But maybe he did want to come back. I don't know but what I do know is that I need to see him again. Faelee made it to the castle gates as she looked back to the forest she caught a glimpse of the winged stranger. He followed me  her heart was happy and with that thought she went upstairs and went to bed.

Feawin watched her walk into the castle and he felt better that she was home. He turned around and went to his little hole in the side of lone tree cliff. " father I found an amazing girl and I wish we could be together but it will never work. I know you did it for a little bit till her dad found out. But this time it really wont work I don't think she would like me. And plus her father is making her marry the prince of Oakland forest. Im sorry father I know you didn't raise a son that give up easily but im ready to give up. She was the only oherne for me I know she was but she gave  heart to the prince" and with that feawin curled up and fell asleep. But little did he know the princess did not give her heart to the prince.
