SALEM AWOKE TO OLIVIAS HEAD rested on her chest, her arm wrapped loosely around her from the previous night.
blinking a bit to wake herself up, she brushed the hair out of olivias eyes and saw the obvious stress, even in her sleeping state.
her heart sunk a little, worried not only about what was happening but also the refusal to tell her.
she made a mental note to talk to her about it again after she woke up, not wanting to pressure her just letting her know if she wanted to talk salem was always going to be there.
she turned to the side, grabbing her phone and checking the time, seeing as it was nearly 10 in the morning.
she wasn't tired anymore, but definitely wanted to let olivia sleep, since she arrived later and deserved to get some rest.
she slowly wriggled out of olivias grasp, making sure to not wake her.
she heard light scratching at her door as she walked over it and opened it, seeing beck and jade both sitting there, awaiting morning snuggles in bed.
"sorry babies you're going to have to substitute olivia for me this morning, don't worry she's super comfy," she said softly, picking up jade and plopping her on the bed before doing the same to beck.
they spent a couple seconds sniffing around olivia, lightly clawing at her back before salem pulled them away, making sure they wouldn't hurt or wake her.
after the couple seconds was over, beck happily flopped over olivia, while jade snuggled into the area right beside her face.
salem smiled, taking a mental picture of it before leaving the room and deciding to make breakfast for both of them.
she had pancake mix already in her cupboard so she made that since it was easy and didn't feel like actually cooking.
although she was going to surprise olivia with breakfast in bed, she was interrupted about halfway through her cooking to arms wrapping around her waist, slightly startling her.
"good morning," olivia rasped, her face pressed against salem's back.
"good morning, how'd you sleep angel?" salem asked, flipping the last pancake.
"god it's like we're married," olivia chuckled. "i slept pretty well though, what about you?" she answered.
"me too, i'm happy you slept well," salem replies, spinning on her heels to face the girl.
she had to look down slightly, due to the height difference, and ran her fingers through the girls hair.
her hand travelled down her jaw, slightly tilting her head up to face her.
the two just looked at eachother for a moment, before olivia broke the silence.
"can i kiss you?" she whispered, salem smiling before leaning in and connecting their lips.
the pairs lips were slightly chapped from sleep, but the kiss was euphoric, as they always were when shared between the lovestruck girls.
salem pulled away first for air, chest heaving slightly as she caught her breathe.
she admired olivia for a moment, her cheeks rosy and lips swollen from the kiss.
"god you're so fucking gorgeous, i'm so lucky," salem mumbled, a smile growing on her face, mirrored by olivias.
her blush became more prominent, nerves still conspicuous whenever salem complimented her, with the same butterflies she had been feeling for months.
she had well-expected the honeymoon phase of their relationship to be over by now, maybe even a loss of feelings.
she was never one to stick in relationships, not that she was a player of any sort, she just couldn't find it in herself to dedicate all her time to someone and often found herself losing feelings quickly.
it made her nervous, how quickly the person grew to be her favourite, her number-one priority.
salem was different.
she felt comfortable around her, much more secure than she did in her others. obviously it was slightly weird, she had never dated a girl before.
she treated it as any other relationship, but she couldn't help the flush of nervousness that seemed to envelope her body whenever she thought of the future, everything from coming out to possibly dating girls if she and salem were to ever break up petrified her.
she pushed the thoughts away, at least for that moment, to bask in the happiness salem brought her.
"i'm so in love with you," she whispered, her arms tightly wrapping around salem and hugging her as if they were saying goodbye for the last time.
"says you," salem replied, hugging the girl back with the same energy, the two girls savouring the feeling of comfort they received while tucked in each others arms.
the stress from olivias face seemed to fade dramatically in the presence of salem, everything seemingly falling into place just as it should, the rocky path smoothing out.
"the pancakes are gonna get cold," salem notes aloud, olivia groaning and planting her head on the taller girls chest, refusing to move.
salem's hand winds up on her cheek, lightly pulling her away.
she peppered kisses all over olivias face, making her giggle as her nose scrunches instinctively.
they lace their hands together, salem lightly tugging her to the table.
"for you, m'lady," she jokes, handing her a plate.
"god you're so corny," olivia says, hiding a smile behind her hand, which she plays off as wiping her face.
"but you love me," salem teases, a genuine smile playing on her lips.
"that i do," olivia replies, placing a peck on salem's cheek before sitting down with her at the table, the warmth in her chest making up for the slightly cool temperature of the pancakes.
